On the 28th, the 2025 ASEAN-CHINA GBA Economic Cooperation (Qianhai) Forum, themed “Intelligent Connection for the Future · Industrial Win-Win Cooperation,” was held at the Qianhai International Conference Center in Shenzhen. Co-hosted by the ASEAN-China Centre and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, the forum was organized by the Qianhai Authority of Shenzhen Municipality, Shenzhen University, and the Guangdong High-Tech Industry Chamber of Commerce.
Rooted in serving the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the forum innovatively adopted a “1+3+1” event structure: “1 opening ceremony and main forum + 3 thematic forums (focused on artificial intelligence, international brands, and think tank cooperation) + 1 featured exhibition.” It built a full-process closed loop of “opening guidance – multi-stakeholder discussions – scenario experience – business matching,” systematically promoting in-depth alignment between the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN, and injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the region.
Over 1,000 participants attended the opening ceremony and related activities, including: Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre; Lim Chong Ying, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia; Norman Muhamad, Malaysian Ambassador to China; Lei Zhen, Counselor of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China; Wang Shourui, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone, and Director of the Qianhai Authority; Li Qingquan, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen University; officials from embassies and consulates of ASEAN countries including Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam; as well as representatives from government departments, business associations, think tanks, and enterprises of China and ASEAN countries.
