“Come and take a photo with the sports cars—they are so cool!” On December 21, the static exhibition area of the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Parade at the North Square on the second floor of Canton Tower attracted many citizens to check in. Mr. Su, who brought his son to see the cars, said that apart from auto shows, there are few opportunities to get up close to so many vehicles. “Besides, there are classic cars from the past, nearly 100-year-old vintage cars, as well as introductions to automotive culture. It’s very rich and allows children to learn more about the history of Guangzhou’s automotive industry.”
Although the spectacular auto parade has concluded, the static exhibition area remains open from December 21 to 23 (9:00–18:00 on the 21st, and 10:00–18:00 on the 22nd and 23rd), enabling citizens to explore the diverse charms of the automotive world.
Nearly 40 exhibition vehicles are on display in the static area, where the retro elegance of classic vintage cars, the cutting-edge technology of new energy intelligent connected vehicles, and the forward-looking layout of autonomous driving cars complement each other. The addition of some parade vehicles further enhances the highlights.
Beyond cars, a range of technological products have made their debut, including XPeng HT Flying Car, XPeng IRON Robot, robots developed by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and robots from Ligong Technology. With bionic designs and intelligent algorithms at their core, these products break the traditional boundaries between transportation and industrial manufacturing, vividly presenting a three-dimensional picture of future life to the audience. Among them, the VR driving and mind-controlled racing booths have attracted many young car enthusiasts for experience. According to on-site staff, visitors only need to wear a headband, whose sensors connect to the racing car model via Bluetooth. “The more focused you are, the faster the car will run.”
The venue also features special check-in spots for the “Huacheng Car Shadows” themed photography, themed installations of the 15th National Games opening ceremony such as the Twenty-Four Solar Terms Drums, and mascot performances of the 15th National Games. These elements vividly interpret the diverse vitality of Guangzhou’s “sports + technology + culture” in the post-Games era, allowing citizens to not only experience the cutting-edge achievements in intelligent mobility and smart manufacturing up close, but also trace the integration of automotive culture and urban memories through classic vintage cars.
“Guangzhou’s auto companies have brought out their treasures—such as the first mass-produced cars and vehicles with over one million kilometers on the odometer. They are well worth seeing!” Car enthusiast Mr. Liang said that holding the auto parade in Guangzhou is of great significance. Guangzhou is not only an “automotive city” in the sense of industrial production, but also in the sense of culture.
