In 2025, Guangzhou thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on Guangdong, practiced the people – centered development philosophy, focused on the key work themes of “boosting the economy, ensuring security, hosting the National Games, and improving quality”, and promoted the city’s livelihood initiatives in a vigorous and orderly manner, successfully completing the annual work tasks as scheduled.
- Standardize the driving behavior of electric bicycles and reduce serious violations such as running red lights. 372 non – motorized vehicle signal lights at intersections have been constructed and upgraded, 594 non – motorized vehicle crossing passages have been improved, 112.8 kilometers of road right allocation between motor vehicles and non – motorized vehicles have been optimized, and 445 sets of monitoring and evidence – collection equipment for electric bicycles have been constructed and renovated.
- Renovate the traffic environment around key metro station entrances. The selection of the “one – station – one – strategy” plan and the renovation of the layout design for 44 key metro station entrances have been completed. 20 model station entrances have been selected to drive the overall improvement through individual examples.
- Strengthen the supervision over the food safety of off – campus catering services. A full – coverage inspection of 279 off – campus catering service units has been completed. Third – party institutions have been entrusted to carry out full – coverage inspection, evaluation and training for these units.
- Increase the supply of inclusive childcare services. Two university – industry – education integration childcare demonstration sites have been built; 120,000 childcare places have been provided, with more than 5.8 childcare places per 1,000 people.
- Further expand the supply of general high school places. The city has added 12,870 general high school places.
- Promote the popularization of first – aid publicity and education. 55,251 Red Cross first – aid workers have been trained, and 1,012 public lectures on first – aid have been held, benefiting 112,295 people.
- Promote employment and entrepreneurship with high – quality services. The city has added 350,900 new urban jobs, provided entrepreneurship capacity – building training for 1,640 people, carried out 228 entrepreneurship guidance services in campuses and communities, and identified 12 “model entrepreneurship villages”.
- Increase venues for national fitness activities. More than 628 new sports venues have been added near the public, 42 new football fields have been built, and over 10,000 sports facilities have been recorded in the “Mass Sports Access” system.
- Promote the improvement of quality – oriented education for rural children and adolescents. 432 off – campus courses have been provided, serving more than 70,000 person – times; more than 6,000 rural children and adolescents have been organized to participate in practical experience and visiting – learning activities, 12 rural teacher exchange activities have been carried out, serving 3,000 person – times.
- Promote the establishment of owner organizations in property – managed communities. 441 owner organizations have been established (or re – elected), and 45 short – videos on popularizing property management laws have been originally created and released.
- Strengthen vocational skills training for the disabled. 120 vocational skills training sessions have been held, training 2,050 disabled people; 1,513 disabled people have obtained new jobs.
