On January 1st, the “New Year Mountain Climbing to Show Elegance, Fitness and Dream-Chasing for the Future” China Sports Lottery – 2026 National New Year Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference (Guangzhou Conghua Venue) kicked off at the Wuzhi Mountain Scenic Area of Liuxihe National Forest Park. The event was hosted by the Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports of Conghua District, the Administrative Center of Guangzhou Liuxihe National Forest Park, and Guangzhou Zhujiang Congcheng Construction and Development Co., Ltd., with strong support from China Sports Lottery and Zhujiang Industrial Group.
Zhao Long, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Ouyang Keyuan, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, and district leaders Lu Fengping, Hu Xiangling, Wen Xiaomin, together with responsible persons from the Municipal Bureau of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, the Municipal Bureau of Sports, and the Guangzhou Mountaineering Association, attended the event.
At the launching ceremony, the Guangzhou Mountaineering Association awarded the plaque of “Recommended Outdoor Sports Base of Guangzhou Mountaineering Association” to Guangzhou Liuxihe National Forest Park. Afterwards, leaders and guests took the stage together to sound the whistle and officially launch the mountain climbing and fitness conference.
The event was held at the Wuzhi Mountain Scenic Area of Liuxihe National Forest Park, which boasts superior ecological resources. Two distinctive mountain climbing routes were carefully designed to precisely meet the needs of different groups of participants.
It is reported that this is the second time that Conghua has hosted a branch venue of the National New Year Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference. The event aims to actively respond to the national strategies of national fitness and rural revitalization, as well as the call for building a strong sports nation. By deeply integrating outdoor sports, national fitness and rural development, it promotes the extension of sports undertakings to the grassroots level, injects vigorous sports vitality into Guangzhou, and contributes to the comprehensive rural revitalization and the construction of a high-quality development demonstration zone covering towns and villages around South Kunshan and Luofu Mountain.
