Baiguodong Community has translated the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China into vivid practices of “improving governance efficiency, serving people’s livelihood, and promoting development”. Driven by the dual wheels of “strengthening economic foundations and upgrading people’s livelihood”, it has blazed a path of high-quality development with community characteristics, continuously enhancing residents’ sense of happiness and gain.
Focusing on the requirement of “promoting high-quality development” put forward at the plenary session, Baiguodong Community has taken industrial upgrading as a breakthrough and fully advanced the “industrial park renovation for industrial use” project of Baida Industrial Park.
Huang Xuwu, Secretary of the General Party Branch of Baiguodong Community, said: “Through the renovation and upgrading of old factory buildings, we have built a fully biodegradable materials industrial base and a smart logistics center. This not only optimizes the industrial structure and upgrades space utilization, but also brings the community a stable annual rental income of about 24.5 million yuan, significantly strengthening the collective economic strength.”
Under the guidance of the green development concept, Baiguodong Community has actively activated the “roof economy” and promoted the construction of photovoltaic power generation projects, turning idle roofs into “power generation positions”. On the other hand, it has persisted in improving people’s livelihood under the leadership of Party building, and implemented the deployment of “ensuring and improving people’s livelihood” from the plenary session.
Huang Xuwu added: “By upgrading and renovating Baiguodong Park, Laowei Fishpond and other facilities, we have created more green spaces for residents; we have converted old factory buildings into a convenient service hall, a Party-mass service center, emergency shelters and other facilities, continuously improving the community service structure.”
Baiguodong Community has also enriched residents’ cultural life by adding a village history museum, a civilization practice station, and an exhibition hall for the “Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, Ten Thousand Villages High-quality Development Project”; focusing on “the elderly and children”, it has retained school bus services for students and carried out respect-for-the-elderly day activities to strengthen people’s livelihood security; it has upgraded roads within its jurisdiction, promoted the renovation of street lamps and road sections, and effectively improved residents’ quality of life.
