On the morning of December 5, the 40th International Volunteer Day, the launching event of “Volunteer Role Models · Beautiful Journey Together” Outstanding Cases of Yuexiu “Kapok Charity” Social Work Volunteer Service was held within the jurisdiction of Beijing Sub-district. A number of volunteer service projects and individuals from Beijing Sub-district were recognized as outstanding cases.

The 2nd Yuexiu District Social Work Public Welfare Fair was also held on-site. The “Kapok Charity” Team of Beijing Sub-district, together with 10 professional “Kapok Charity” social work teams from Yuexiu District and 17 other sub-district teams, jointly provided on-site volunteer service projects for residents.
In 2025, Beijing Sub-district has actively explored and innovated volunteer service models. Based on the current sound foundation, it has mobilized social forces to participate, deeply integrated volunteer services with community governance and people’s daily lives, and launched a number of “small yet exquisite” volunteer projects that are easy to participate in and operate. The Yanyunxi “Volunteer Courtyard” Community has been successfully included in the “Elderly, Children and New Groups” Volunteer Service Comprehensive Position Construction Project of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Moving forward, Beijing Sub-district will continue to focus on high-quality development and residents’ needs, strive to promote the projectization, branding and standardization of volunteer services, launch more high-quality and characteristic service content, make volunteer services an important engine for promoting grassroots governance, and further enhance the value of volunteer services.
