Recently, the “China Southern Power Grid Cup” table tennis competition of the 12th National Paralympic Games and 9th National Special Olympics Games came to a successful conclusion in Guangzhou. Athlete Li Xinyan (first from the right in the picture) from Mapui Town, Boluo County, teamed up with her partners Xiong Guiyan and Huang Wenjuan to compete in the Women’s Team TT8-9 (standing) final for athletes with physical disabilities. They fought bravely and ultimately claimed the gold medal, adding glory to the Guangdong delegation and bringing honor to our county.

From an ordinary teenager in Mapui Town to a national Paralympic champion, Li Xinyan has broken the physical constraints with her practical actions and demonstrated the spirit of self-improvement and striving for excellence of disabled athletes. Her championship is not only an important breakthrough in her personal sports career, but also injects new vitality into the development of sports in Boluo, sets an inspirational example for young people, and highlights the spiritual characteristics of Boluo’s people of daring to venture, daring to fight, and courageously scaling heights.
