In his speech, Zhao Zhimin pointed out that at this crucial juncture when the 14th Five-Year Plan is drawing to a close and the 15th Five-Year Plan is about to kick off, it is of great and special significance to jointly discuss the future development of China’s economy by taking Shenzhen’s development practices as a reference, in conjunction with studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Zhang Ling stated that the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting will be held in Shenzhen in November 2026. Shenzhen will step onto the global stage with a more open, innovative and cooperative image, and showcase the latest achievements of Chinese path to modernization to the Asia-Pacific region and the whole world. How to elevate Shenzhen’s experience into innovative theories has long been a major subject that the academic and theoretical circles of social sciences have strived to reflect on and actively explore. She hoped that colleagues in the academic and theoretical circles of social sciences will base themselves on the two overall situations, focus on the national needs, the development orientation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen’s strengths, conduct systematic and theoretical research and interpretation on cutting-edge topics such as building a modern international metropolis with greater global influence, and provide a more solid theoretical support for advancing in-depth reform and high-standard opening-up to the outside world.
Experts and scholars from a number of domestic research institutions and universities attended the symposium, extended congratulations on the publication of the two achievements, and conducted in-depth discussions on the theoretical and practical value of Shenzhen’s experience.
The symposium was hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, China Social Sciences Press, and the Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences (Shenzhen Federation of Social Sciences Circles).
