
Launched in Guangzhou on December 2nd, the “2025 Cross-Strait, Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asia Chinese Media Guangzhou Tour” brought together over 50 Chinese media professionals from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan region, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Southeast Asia. With the theme “New Dynamics of the Bay Area, New Charms of Guangzhou”, the 3-day in-depth tour aims to convey the development vitality of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the warmth of cross-Strait integration to the world.
At the launch ceremony, Ma Xiaoguang, Vice President of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, delivered a speech stating that the Chinese mainland and Taiwan share the same roots and blood ties, and Guangzhou has always been a hub for cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation. He hoped that media friends would experience the profound heritage of Lingnan culture, witness the momentum of new quality productive forces development, and feel the atmosphere of cross-Strait integrated development in Guangzhou. He encouraged them to record the development pulse of the Greater Bay Area through lenses and convey the warmth of cross-Strait integration through words, enabling more Taiwan compatriots to see the development opportunities on the mainland through Guangzhou.

Zeng Weidong, Director of the Guangzhou Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office, expressed his hope that media friends would learn about Guangzhou’s new achievements and features in deepening reform and opening up, promoting scientific and technological innovation, optimizing the business environment, especially improving the policy system for benefiting Taiwan and supporting Taiwan compatriots in innovation and entrepreneurship. He invited them to introduce a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive Guangzhou to compatriots from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia.
Ms. Cai, a media professional from Taiwan, said: “My previous impression of Guangzhou was mostly rooted in historical memories. Revisiting it this time, I found it a vibrant integration of tradition and modernity. It boasts profound cultural heritage as well as modern landscapes, and the food and technological innovation here are particularly surprising.”
It is understood that the interview team’s visit sites cover urban development, scientific and technological innovation, digital transformation, historical tracing, Lingnan culture, youth exchanges, trendy toys and cultural and creative industries, etc.
