On January 7, Feng Zhonghua, Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, and Sun Zhiyang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Guangzhou, met with Hu Zhongxiong and his delegation in Guangzhou. Hu Zhongxiong holds the positions of Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, Secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee, and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Gui’an New Area. The two sides had an in-depth exchange on further deepening cooperation and jointly promoting high-quality development.
Feng Zhonghua and Sun Zhiyang extended a warm welcome to Hu Zhongxiong and his delegation and briefed them on the economic and social development of Guangzhou. Feng Zhonghua stated that Guangzhou and Guiyang are closely connected by rivers and waters. Since the launch of the east-west cooperation between Guangdong and Guizhou, personnel exchanges and economic and trade interactions between the two cities have become increasingly frequent, and positive results have been achieved in cooperation across various fields. At present, Guangzhou is firmly shouldering the missions and tasks entrusted by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, acting with the sense of responsibility to take the lead, set an example, and play a pivotal role, fully stimulating the momentum and vitality of reform, opening-up, and innovation, striving to make a good start in the crucial initial phase of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, continuously creating new advantages and achieving new breakthroughs, accelerating the realization of a time-honored city with renewed vitality and “making new advances and shining brightly in four aspects”, and continuing to serve as a pacesetter and locomotive in advancing high-quality development. Guiyang boasts a solid industrial foundation, a sound ecological environment, and a vigorous development momentum, and many of its good experiences and practices are worthy of our earnest learning and emulation. It is hoped that driven by the coordinated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the large-scale development of the western region in the new era, the two cities will focus on deepening cooperation in such fields as the digital economy, economic and trade investment, and cultural tourism, so as to achieve complementary advantages and coordinated progress, and jointly make greater contributions to advancing Chinese-style modernization.
On behalf of Guiyang and Gui’an, Hu Zhongxiong expressed his gratitude to Guangzhou for its long-term support. He noted that in recent years, Guangzhou has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on Guangdong and Guangzhou, pooled efforts to serve as a pacesetter, bellwether, and locomotive, and achieved inspiring and enlightening results in promoting high-quality development. At present, Guiyang and Gui’an are earnestly studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches during his inspection tour of Guizhou, striving to write a new chapter in high-quality development and modernization drive. The two sides have maintained close exchanges and interactions, with strong functional complementarity and broad prospects for cooperation. Guiyang and Gui’an will fully draw on Guangzhou’s sound ideas and valuable experience in advancing new-type urbanization and developing new-quality productive forces, continuously expand cooperation with Guangzhou in the digital economy, cultural and tourism economy, and open economy, and jointly contribute to deepening the east-west cooperation between Guangdong and Guizhou.
