Since December 25, Feng Zhonghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Director of the Organization Department, and Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, has successively paid visits to veteran comrades including Gao Siren, Huang Huahua, Zhu Xiaodan, Lin Shusen, and Zhang Guangning. He expressed gratitude for their significant contributions to Guangzhou’s economic and social development and solicited their opinions and suggestions on the work of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government.
During cordial conversations with the veteran comrades, Feng Zhonghua inquired with concern about their physical conditions and living situations. Centering on studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on Guangdong and Guangzhou, as well as advancing high-quality development in Guangzhou, he engaged in in-depth exchanges and sought their advice and suggestions. He stated that veteran comrades are participants and witnesses of the city’s construction and development, and the achievements Guangzhou has made in its development embody the painstaking efforts and wisdom of these veterans. The 15th Five-Year Plan period is a crucial stage for Guangzhou to create new advantages and achieve new breakthroughs. We will always adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, as well as the work requirements of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, and earnestly shoulder the heavy historical mission. Focusing on serving the overall development of the whole country and the province, building on the solid foundation laid by previous sessions of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, we will inherit and learn from the veteran comrades’ spirit of bold reform and courage in innovation, steadily carry forward the cause of Guangzhou from one generation to the next, persistently promote industrial development, accelerate the realization of a time-honored city’s new vitality and the “Four Fresh Breakthroughs and Splendid Achievements”, continue to play the role of pace-setter and locomotive in high-quality development, and strive to open up a new prospect for Guangzhou’s modernization drive. He hoped that all veteran comrades would continue to care about and support the work of Guangzhou as always. Relevant departments should wholeheartedly do a good job in services for retired cadres and create favorable conditions for the veterans’ health and happy life.
The veteran comrades unanimously expressed their firm support for the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and extended a warm welcome to Comrade Feng Zhonghua taking office as Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee. They thanked Comrade Feng Zhonghua for visiting them shortly after assuming his new post and pledged to continue to fully support the work of the CPC Municipal Committee.
