It was learned from Gaolan Terminal of CNOOC Deepwater Development Co., Ltd. that as of the early days of this month, the terminal’s cumulative external delivery of natural gas has exceeded 60 billion cubic meters. It has also completed the loading of more than 150,000 truck trips of clean energy products including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), light hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide, with the total outward shipment volume surpassing 3.7 million metric tons. What’s more, the terminal has achieved 4,400 consecutive days of safe production with zero accidents, injecting a steady impetus into the green development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

As a strategic gateway for natural gas from the eastern and western oil and gas fields in the South China Sea to enter the Greater Bay Area, Gaolan Terminal, located in Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone, undertakes the natural gas processing and external delivery tasks for multiple offshore gas fields. Its annual natural gas delivery capacity exceeds 8 billion cubic meters, accounting for approximately one fifth of Guangdong Province’s total natural gas consumption. Since the arrival of the winter peak supply guarantee period, Gaolan Terminal has further strengthened hidden danger inspections on natural gas delivery processes and special inspections of key equipment. By carrying out peak shaving and production allocation, it has enhanced the coordination capacity of upstream and downstream links, effectively improving the efficiency of natural gas supply guarantee and the level of safe operation.

In terms of safety management, Gaolan Terminal has been continuously optimizing the safety control system for tank truck operations, and innovatively implemented management mechanisms such as 10-minute safety training in daily morning meetingsmentor-apprentice pairing and veteran staff assisting new employees, driving the evolution of its management system towards refinement and systematization. A full standardized management has been applied to all operational procedures: the entire process of external gas delivery operations is under supervision and recorded item by item, and problems identified are rectified in a closed-loop manner with checklist-based management, enabling accurate identification and control of on-site safety risks.

In addition, relying on intelligent construction, Gaolan Terminal has built an early warning system. It collects real-time on-site data through devices such as surveillance cameras and high-precision sensors to conduct full-process monitoring of gas delivery and filling operations. By leveraging big data analytics to identify operational trends, the terminal realizes early warning of potential risks, thus fully safeguarding transportation safety.
