Recently, the 2025 High-Level Seminar on Talent Development, themed “How to Build a Talent Supply Chain for Chinese Enterprises Going Global”, was held at the conference hall of the Macao Science Center. Hosted by the Macao Professional Talent Development Association and co-organized by Zhuguang (Group) Co., Ltd., the seminar brought together approximately 50 experts and representatives from human resources service institutions, representative overseas-bound enterprises, universities and industry associations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Zhuhai, as well as Malaysia. They jointly analyzed and addressed the core talent issues faced by Chinese enterprises in the process of global development and built consensus.
Multi-Dimensional Analysis on Building an International Talent Supply Chain
Focusing on the strategic issues currently confronting Chinese enterprises going global, this seminar aimed to conduct in-depth discussions on how to construct an efficient, stable and international talent supply chain to support the sustainable development of enterprises in the global market. Participants carried out in-depth sharing and lively discussions on core topics such as the unique hub role of Hong Kong and Macao in international talent exchange, the specific talent challenges and opportunities faced by overseas-bound enterprises, and the practical strategies for building a global talent supply chain.
In the thematic sharing session, many experts and representatives from different fields presented multi-dimensional professional insights: from the strategic perspective of investment and industrial linkage, they explored how to leverage location advantages to effectively connect and allocate international talent resources, providing distinctive hub service ideas for enterprises going global. Expert representatives focusing on the Southeast Asian market shared their profound insights into the regional talent ecosystem, analyzing the characteristics of local markets and talent flow trends. Operation experts from mainland human resources service industrial parks systematically introduced the innovative models and cutting-edge practices formed by the domestic human resources service industry in supporting the globalization of enterprises.
In addition, representatives from local economic and trade cooperation associations, based on their rich experience in serving enterprises for a long time, sorted out and analyzed the common talent needs and core challenges faced by Chinese enterprises in the process of expanding overseas businesses. The presentations by the guests were solid in content and diverse in perspective, covering both strategy and practice, providing abundant ideological inspiration for building a systematic and global talent supply chain.
Providing More Solid Talent Support for Chinese Enterprises to Expand Overseas
In the multi-stakeholder dialogue session, representatives from Chinese overseas-bound enterprises, Hong Kong and Macao enterprises, professional talent institutions, as well as universities and associations conducted further in-depth exchanges. Based on practical experience, all parties shared specific cases and challenges in overseas talent recruitment, cross-cultural team management, localized compliance operations and school-enterprise cooperation in talent training, and jointly explored collaborative solutions. The discussion reached a consensus that it is necessary to further strengthen the multi-party collaboration mechanism of “government, industry, academia, research and application”, give full play to the platform advantages of Macao and other regions, and build a more resilient talent ecosystem network.
This seminar successfully built a high-standard and highly effective dialogue platform. It not only accurately analyzed the core talent challenges faced by Chinese enterprises going global, but also pooled the wisdom of all parties to put forward practical strategic ideas for building a future-oriented global talent supply chain. The outcomes of the seminar will provide valuable reference for relevant policy-making, business innovation and enterprise strategic planning, and further consolidate and enhance the unique status and role of Macao in serving the country’s high-level opening-up and international talent exchange and cooperation.
