The Four-Party Agreement is a fruitful document that thoroughly summarizes the experience of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao co-hosting the 15th National Games and continuously promotes the integrated development of sports in the three regions. It is also a practical exploration to give full play to the unique functions and diverse values of sports, and better serve the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the cause of “one country, two systems”. The signing of the agreement will comprehensively strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao in various fields such as competitive sports, mass sports, sports industry, international sports governance, sports science and technology, sports culture, and sports rule of law. By encouraging the Greater Bay Area to take the lead in trials, pursue win-win cooperation, and realize resource sharing, venue co-use, event co-hosting, talent co-cultivation, industry co-prosperity, technology co-creation, and level co-improvement, it will promote the integrated development of sports in the three regions at a higher level, in a broader field, and from a wider perspective, and serve the overall national development.
In the next step, the General Administration of Sport of China will work with Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to fully implement the contents of the Four-Party Agreement, vigorously support the development of sports in Hong Kong and Macao, give full play to the unique functions and diverse values of sports, and make greater contributions to deepening the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promoting the better integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the national development overall situation.
