Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission Promotes “Green Prescriptions” in the Southern Kunlun Mountain – Luofu Mountain Leading Area to Boost High – quality Development of the City’s Health and Wellness Industry

The Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission has innovatively launched the “Green Prescriptions” initiative and actively extended it to the Southern Kunlun Mountain – Luofu Mountain Leading Area. This move helps transform ecological advantages into health benefits and injects new green impetus into regional development. Up to now, the two districts of Conghua and Zengcheng have issued a total of over 8,000 green prescriptions, which are widely acclaimed by the public.

First, it innovates mechanisms to build a service consortium. Based on the “One Mountain, One Hospital” model jointly established by the Municipal Chest Hospital and Baiyun Mountain, the initiative has been further expanded to the leading area. It has promoted the signing of cooperation agreements between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospitals and community health service centers in Conghua and Zengcheng, and national forest parks such as Liuxi River, Shimen and Baishui Mountain, thus forming a collaborative “Multiple Parks, Multiple Hospitals” model. Professional physicians in medical institutions customize personalized forest health and wellness exercise prescriptions for chronic disease patients and sub – healthy groups, implement closed – loop management of “effect tracking – dynamic adjustment”, and offer preferential park entry policies for those holding prescriptions, realizing the goal of “one person, one prescription, scientific healing”.

Second, it integrates scenarios to expand new paths for health and wellness. In collaboration with park management, a number of themed “health and wellness trails” have been planned and constructed. By combining TCM constitution identification with outdoor activities such as forest walks, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi and Baduanjin, the initiative extends health monitoring and conditioning services to natural scenarios, achieving in – depth integration between forest ecology and the TCM concept of “preventive treatment of diseases”.

Third, it cultivates brands to create replicable solutions. Relying on the abundant ecological and TCM resources in the leading area, the commission has carried out cooperative research and development on tangible health and wellness products with Lingnan characteristics, extending the industrial chain. Efforts are made to cultivate the distinctive “TCM + Forest” health and wellness brand, create a high – quality service model that enables “post – illness rehabilitation and daily health maintenance”, and provide practical experience and reference for the high – quality development of the health and wellness industry in the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
