Watch Robots Play Football at Haixinsha This New Year’s Day
Want to see drones delivering packages across the river or robots playing football? On December 29, the highly anticipated Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island · Future Island held a global media open day, unveiling its full picture to the outside world for the first time. As China’s first comprehensive exhibition platform for full-space intelligent systems, the project will officially open to the public on January 1, 2026. A grand opening ceremony featuring a drone sky show, robot matrix performance, and all-round immersive experience will be held on that day. Citizens can make reservations in advance via the “Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island · Future Island” mini-program to visit the island and witness this spectacular “tech show” in person.

Five Core Functions: Integrating Experience, Interaction, Consumption and More
Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island · Future Island is a benchmark project co-built by Guangzhou Urban Construction Investment Group and the Fifth Electronics Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Positioned as a source and amplifier of new productive forces rooted in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, leading the nation and going global, the project focuses on four cutting-edge industries: low-altitude economy, embodied intelligence, intelligent connected systems, and intelligent ships.
The island has been developed into a “One Core and Five Zones” layout, including:
- Indoor Intelligent Equipment Core Exhibition and Experience Zone (5,300 square meters)
- Outdoor Low-Altitude Equipment Exhibition and Experience Zone (7,200 square meters)
- Embodied Intelligence Exhibition and Experience Zone (500 square meters)
- Intelligent Driving Exhibition and Experience Zone
- Intelligent Ship Exhibition and Experience Zone
- Central Stage Roadshow and Release Area
The indoor core zone is divided into six sections: Navigation, Air Exploration, Land Networking, Sea Control, Leadership, and Future. Additionally, distinctive outdoor scenarios such as an island-circling intelligent connected route and a Pearl River intelligent ship route have been created, presenting an all-round “land, sea, air and intelligence” integrated smart ecosystem.
The island showcases cutting-edge achievements in four strategic emerging industries—low-altitude economy, intelligent connected systems, embodied intelligence, and intelligent ships. It transforms abstract advanced technologies into tangible, experiential real-world scenarios, making the effect of technology empowering the city directly perceptible.
Lü Yang, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Urban Construction Investment Low-Altitude Industry Investment Co., Ltd., stated that the project focuses on five core functions: experience and interaction (science popularization and research study), consumption scenarios, pilot testing services, roadshow and release, and industry forums. It builds an ecological system featuring “helping you exhibit, assisting you in sales, investing in your business, and growing together”, providing full-chain empowerment for enterprises. The goal is to develop Haixinsha into a new platform, new landmark, and new highland as the “Sci-Tech Island · Future Island”, forming a new urban image of “One Tower and One Island” together with the Canton Tower in Guangzhou.
Scene Highlights: Indoor and Outdoor Integration Presents “Daily Tech Life”
Reporters experienced the “tech-enabled lifestyle” firsthand during their visit. Inside the Full-Space Intelligent Experience Center, bionic quadruped robots navigated complex terrains steadily, demonstrating their potential for technological emergency rescue. Meanwhile, a thrilling robot football match was in progress, showcasing cutting-edge algorithms for multi-agent collaboration.
Moving outdoors, technology turned from concept into reality:
- Logistics drones took off automatically from the rooftop airport to conduct cross-river precision delivery demonstrations
- L4-level autonomous shuttle buses ran quietly along the island-circling greenway, stopping on demand
- On the river surface, intelligent monitoring unmanned ships glided through the clear waves, transmitting hydrological data in real time
The seamless connection between indoor and outdoor scenarios vividly interprets the connotation of “full-space intelligence”.
Industrial Core: Fostering an Innovation Ecosystem with Real Orders
A representative from MIIT Fifth Electronics Research Institute introduced that Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island · Future Island adopts a “1+1+N” joint operation mechanism, gathering upstream, midstream and downstream enterprises in multiple strategic emerging industries and forming ecological partners that collaborate on business opportunities. Based on different application scenarios and needs, enterprises in the experience center have formed a commercial team—the “Haixinsha Team”—dedicated to serving over 50 first-batch settled enterprises.
Specifically, Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island · Future Island provides enterprises with full-chain support of “helping you exhibit, assisting you in sales, investing in your business, and growing together”. For example, it helps enterprises build exhibition platforms, connect market resources for product marketing, and offer financial support and industrial incubation opportunities. Meanwhile, through systematic solutions, new scenario marketing and digital guarantee, it constructs an industrial closed loop of “verification equals exhibition, and exhibition equals transformation”. The ultimate goal is to make Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island a fertile ground for the incubation and growth of new productive forces, enabling enterprises to truly implement their technological achievements and realize industrialization.
Different from traditional industrial parks, the sci-tech island demonstrates its unique industrial empowerment logic. The project operator explained that its core model is “attracting projects through scenarios and nurturing enterprises with orders”. The island’s own operational needs will serve as the first batch of “customers”, purchasing products and services from settled enterprises to form an initial commercial closed loop. At the same time, leveraging its abundant urban construction and operation scenario resources, Haixinsha Sci-Tech Island will regularly hold “demand matching meetings” to connect enterprises on the island with broader application markets such as municipal administration and transportation.
