On December 5, the award ceremony for primary school students’ calligraphy and painting competition and the opening ceremony of the exhibition themed “Holding Big Hands in Small Hands, Following the Party Forever” were held at Eyu Book City in Fenghuang Xintiandi, Guancheng Sub-district.
Organized jointly by the Guancheng Working Committee for Caring for the Next Generation, the Guancheng Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Guancheng Education Management Center, the event aims to cherish the memory of revolutionary martyrs, carry forward the heroic spirit, deepen teenagers’ patriotic education and revolutionary tradition education through calligraphy and painting art, and guide them to strengthen their ideals and beliefs and inherit the red blood.
Outstanding selected works were displayed on site, and honorary certificates were awarded to 80 winning students. Zhan Weirong, director of the Guancheng Working Committee for Caring for the Next Generation, encouraged teenagers on site to remember history, set lofty ideals, consciously integrate personal growth into national development, and unswervingly listen to and follow the Party.
With the theme of commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the event collected 80 pieces of calligraphy and painting works from primary school students. The works, sincere in emotion and substantial in content, express the children’s patriotic feelings and high respect through brush and ink.
The calligraphy works cover various fonts such as seal script, clerical script, regular script, running script and cursive script, carefully copying red classic poems and inheriting the revolutionary spirit through brush and ink. The painting works, including watercolors and cartoons, vividly depict the magnificent history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and heroic deeds, showing the new era teenagers’ profound understanding of history and sincere praise for heroes.

This event not only built a stage for teenagers to show their talents, but also served as a vivid and profound ideological and political education class. Through the interactive mode of “holding big hands in small hands”, it has effectively enhanced teenagers’ sense of historical responsibility and national mission, achieving positive social response and educational effects.
