To effectively safeguard the home safety of residents in the jurisdiction and prevent and resolve various home safety risks, the Veteran Service Station of Huadi Street organized Etan Hongmian Veteran Volunteers to carry out a special home safety inspection campaign on the evening of December 11.
The staff formed inspection teams to conduct comprehensive and detailed safety assessments, focusing on checking whether kitchen gas pipelines were aging, gas stoves were up to standard, valves were tightly closed, as well as whether the electrical circuits in bedrooms, living rooms and other areas were damaged, sockets were overloaded, and fire-fighting equipment was intact and functional. For potential hazards identified during the inspection, volunteers patiently explained safety risk points to residents on the spot, earnestly reminded them of daily home safety precautions, and taught practical knowledge such as emergency response to gas leaks and electrical safety regulations.
In this campaign, Etan Hongmian Veteran Volunteers fully demonstrated the responsibility of veterans who “retire but never fade, and their remaining enthusiasm reflects their original aspiration”. With down-to-earth communication methods and a pragmatic work style, they delivered safety services right to residents’ doorsteps. This initiative not only effectively identified and eliminated a number of home safety hazards, but also enhanced residents’ safety awareness and self-protection capabilities. Through concrete actions, they conveyed the care and warmth of the community, building a solid line of defense for the home safety of residents in the jurisdiction.
