Encountering a Fire During Patrol, Special Patrol Officers Turn Into “Firefighters” to Defuse the Danger

At around 12:18 noon on December 7, Chen Kun and Chen Sijing, officers from the Patrol and SWAT Brigade of Huiyang Public Security Bureau, were patrolling on Gujing 4th Road when they noticed that a roadside trash can was emitting thick smoke with signs of open flames. Since the trash can was adjacent to residential buildings and flammable debris such as cardboard boxes were piled up nearby, failure to handle it in a timely manner could easily lead to the fire spreading and pose a threat to the safety of surrounding residents.
Faced with the sudden danger, they quickly set up an isolation zone between the fire source and the residential buildings, and at the same time made several trips to the residential buildings to fetch water. A few minutes later, the open flames were completely extinguished. Afterward, they carefully inspected every corner to confirm there were no remaining embers or risk of re-ignition, and issued safety reminders to the surrounding residents before feeling relieved to leave and continue their patrol.
A Child Wanders Off While Playing, Special Patrol Officers Retrieve Him in Half an Hour for a Reunion

At around 14:00 on December 8, a 5-year-old child went missing in Huiyang. After receiving a request for help from the public, Gao Hongwei and Luo Xuming from the Patrol and SWAT Brigade rushed to the scene immediately. The two officers comforted the child’s family while quickly gathering information about the child’s physical characteristics, clothing, as well as the possible time and direction of disappearance. After obtaining the basic information, they immediately launched a carpet search centered on the place where the child went missing, covering surrounding streets and alleys, residential communities, and shops, leaving no corner unchecked, and also asked passers-by for any useful clues.
After nearly half an hour of careful searching, the two officers finally found the child wandering alone by the roadside near Danshui Street, several hundred meters away from the disappearance site. After confirming the child was safe and sound, they contacted the parents at once.
It was later learned that the child had sneaked out of the house while his family was not looking because he was playful, and then got lost due to being unfamiliar with the surroundings. While waiting for the parents to arrive, the officers stayed with the child patiently and comforted his emotions. When the parents hurried to the scene and saw the child was unharmed, they excitedly held the officers’ hands and thanked them repeatedly: “Thanks to you! We were so worried. We really appreciate it! It’s great to have you around.”
Committing to doing practical things and solving problems for the people, keeping the people’s urgent and anxious concerns in mind, and shouldering the responsibility of serving the people, Huiyang Public Security is always on the way.
