To implement the requirements of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases and the China National Plan for AIDS Prevention and Control (2024 – 2030), and closely follow the national unified publicity theme for the 38th World AIDS Day in 2025 — “Joint Social Governance, Forging Ahead with Integrity and Innovation, and Ending AIDS”, Huizhou County successfully held the charity Neon Run themed “Glowing Huizhou, Running Towards Zero AIDS” on the evening of November 28th. Lin Jinlai, Deputy County Mayor of Huizhou County, relevant responsible persons from the county’s Health Bureau, Center for Disease Control and Prevention and other departments, as well as more than 100 citizens, jointly participated in this spectacular AIDS prevention publicity event integrating sports and public welfare.

At the launching ceremony, Lin Jinlai pointed out that AIDS prevention and control is a crucial part of building a Healthy China. Faced with the new situation in AIDS prevention and control, relevant departments at all levels must continuously innovate publicity methods to deeply root the concept that “everyone is the primary person responsible for their own health” in the hearts of the people. They should further optimize and expand the testing service network to achieve early detection and early management of the disease. It is essential to strictly implement the “Treat upon Diagnosis” strategy, improve treatment services and enhance the level of medical care. Great efforts should be made to promote the concept of anti – discrimination, implement comprehensive care and eliminate social discrimination against AIDS patients. In addition, it is necessary to effectively strengthen organizational leadership, pool social forces, establish a pattern of joint governance, and make new and greater contributions to advancing the construction of a Healthy Huizhou and safeguarding public health.

On that night, the event venue was transformed into a brilliant “neon ocean”. By dusk, the site was already crowded with an enthusiastic atmosphere. The publicity and service area carefully set up by the organizers served as the “first stop” of the event. The publicity display boards, with vivid pictures and detailed texts, popularized knowledge about AIDS transmission routes, prevention methods and the national “Four Frees and One Care” policy. Volunteers enthusiastically distributed publicity leaflets and condoms to passers – by, and provided professional health consultation and research services, enabling AIDS prevention knowledge to strike deep roots in people’s minds through interactions.

This charity event combines AIDS prevention publicity with the popular neon run. Taking “sports, health, public welfare and fashion” as the entry points, it has attracted a large number of citizens, especially young people, to participate. It conveys the core message of “Joint Social Governance, Forging Ahead with Integrity and Innovation, and Ending AIDS” in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
