Municipal People’s Congress Deputies of Huizhou Conduct Concentrated Inspection on Fair Judicial Work in Huidong County

On Dec 10, Huidong’s NPC deputies inspected local courts’ judicial work. They affirmed the court’s mediation mechanism and trial efficiency, with judges handling 484.2 cases per capita (top-tier in PRD) in Jan-Nov 2025.

On December 10, the Standing Committee of Huidong County People’s Congress organized some provincial and municipal people’s congress deputies in Huidong County to carry out concentrated inspections in three groups. Among them, the second group conducted a special investigation on the fair judicial work in Huidong County. Liao Yubin, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Huidong County People’s Congress, participated in the activities of the second group.

During the activity, the deputies visited front-line venues such as the Litigation-Mediation Connection Center and the Case Filing Tribunal of Huidong County People’s Court. They conducted on-site inspections of the operation of pre-litigation mediation, service windows and the construction of smart courts, learned in detail about the specifics of case diversion, dispute resolution and convenient services, and directly felt the efficiency and warmth of judicial services.

At the forum, the deputies listened to the work report of Huidong County People’s Court and affirmed the achievements made by Huidong County in the construction of litigation-mediation connection mechanism, optimization of case filing procedures, promotion of judicial openness, and improvement of the quality and efficiency of trial and enforcement. At the same time, based on the inspection situation and focusing on the urgent and difficult concerns of the masses, they put forward opinions and suggestions on further consolidating and improving relevant work and continuously optimizing judicial services.

It is understood that from January to November this year, Huidong County People’s Court accepted 21,400 various cases and concluded 18,400 cases, with an average of about 484.2 cases concluded per judge (reaching the level of first-class courts in the Pearl River Delta), an increase of 121 cases compared with the same period last year. All trial and enforcement business indicators have entered the reasonable range determined by the Supreme People’s Court.
