Recently, the final of the “Understanding & Joy in Longmen” Theory Lecture Competition – an event themed on “Learning and Implementing the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and Telling Stories of High-quality Development” across the county, guided by the Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee and hosted by the Publicity Department of the Longmen County Party Committee, concluded successfully at the Longmen County University for the Elderly.
As a special session of Huizhou’s 2025 Theory Lecture Competition under the theme of “Faithful Voices Convey Truth, United Efforts Forge a Better Future”, the contest featured 10 groups of grassroots lecturers. Drawing on their personal experiences and sincere emotions, they wove the Party’s innovative theories into vivid practical deeds, enabling the “stories of Longmen” to shine with the spirit of the times through their speeches.
At the final competition site, the lecturers, rooted in their respective professional posts across different sectors, depicted inspiring endeavors with simple and genuine words. You Shiqin, a lecturer from the County Government Offices Administration Bureau, spoke of her perseverance in ensuring the efficient operation of Party and government organs through material allocation and emergency duty, embodying the spirit of being a “modest screw”. Wang Kaixin, a rural vitalization volunteer from Longjiang Town, started her story with a 20-yuan roasted meat rice bowl, sharing her growth journey of participating in rural living environment improvement and witnessing the remarkable transformation of the countryside from dilapidation to renewal. Zhao Huimin, a teacher from Longmen High School and the first prize winner of the competition, told a true story of helping a depressed student out of adversity, conveying the sincere warmth of educators and striking a profound chord with the entire audience.
In addition, Zhang Jiahui and Pan Zuyi from the County Sanitation Service Center, portraying themselves as “green-armored warriors”, recounted the ecological changes brought by the “intelligent revolution” in garbage collection and transportation. Xiao Yonghui, a village Party branch secretary in Longtan Town, shared his experience of leading villagers to improve honey quality and expand sales channels via e-commerce, a proven recipe for prosperity. From the farmlands of rural vitalization to the frontline posts of urban services, from the practice sites of ecological protection to the heartwarming moments of educational support, the lecturers interpreted grand themes through small but vivid perspectives. They infused the Party’s innovative theories with a distinctive “Longmen local flavor” and genuine rural vibes, nourishing people’s hearts like a gentle spring breeze moistening the earth.
These touching stories and inspiring journeys have woven together Longmen County’s development achievements in the fields of the rule of law, public services, ecological protection, rural vitalization, education and healthcare. They vividly demonstrate the high-spirited posture of the whole county in advancing the “County-led, Township-connected and Village-based Revitalization Project” and boosting high-quality development. Moving forward, taking this lecture competition as an opportunity, Longmen County will continue to innovate in theoretical publicity and lectures, bringing more grassroots stories to the people and inspiring them, so as to gather a powerful spiritual force of solidarity and perseverance for the county’s high-quality development.
