On November 25th, the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Science, Technology, Fashion and Culture Week, together with the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Fashion Week, concluded successfully at Guangzhou Liuhua Exhibition and Trade Center. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Fashion Ceremony gathered nearly 500 guests, including representatives from government and enterprises, industry and academic experts, winners of the “Golden Top Award” (China’s highest honor in fashion design), China’s Top 10 Fashion Designers, renowned designers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as representatives from various fields.
Shi Yinhuan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the GBA Science, Technology, Fashion and Culture Week, delivered a speech at the closing ceremony and spoke highly of the achievements of the event. He emphasized that this grand gathering had successfully built an international industrial ecosystem platform. Through cross-border collaboration and resource integration, it had revitalized intangible cultural heritage with contemporary vitality and enabled scientific and technological innovation to empower the upgrading of the fashion industry.
“Gorgeous Dream and Magnificent Chapter, Riding the Tide Together in the Bay Area” – The Themed “Bay Area Light” Fashion Show
As a highlight of the closing ceremony, the “Bay Area Light” fashion show with the theme of “Gorgeous Dream and Magnificent Chapter, Riding the Tide Together in the Bay Area” stunned the audience. This visual feast brought together 29 top industry talents, including 7 “Golden Top Award” winners, 8 China’s Top 10 Fashion Designers and renowned designers from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, deeply integrating traditional aesthetics with modern design.
A major strategic cooperation signing ceremony was also held at the closing ceremony. The Organizing Committee of the GBA Science, Technology, Fashion and Culture Week reached strategic cooperation agreements with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Garment and Apparel Chamber of Commerce, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Garment and Apparel Association (Hong Kong), Guangdong Guanglun Culture Development Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Yixin Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. All parties will integrate resources, complement each other’s advantages, and work together to consolidate the foundation for the development of the GBA fashion industry ecosystem.
Breakthroughs were also made in the construction of the talent development system. At the event, the “China General Chamber of Commerce Apparel Commercial Designer Professional Competence Evaluation and Assessment Center” and the “Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) BFD Apparel Commercial Designer Evaluation and Assessment Center” were officially inaugurated. Seven institutions, including Guangdong Polytechnic, Zhongshan Shaxi Polytechnic School, and ESMOD Guangzhou (French Higher Institute of Fashion Design), became the first batch of cooperative units. This initiative marks that the cultivation of fashion talents in the GBA has entered a new stage of standardization and professionalism, injecting a steady stream of talent momentum into the sustainable development of the industry.
Award Ceremony Unveils Annual Benchmarks, Demonstrating a Vigorous Industrial Ecosystem
As the climax of the closing ceremony, the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Fashion Ceremony “Bay Area Light” Awards Ceremony was held, where various awards were announced one by one to set examples for the industry’s development. Among them:
- Zhang Zhaoda won the “Bay Area Light · Fashion Grand Award”;
- 29 industry leaders, including Liu Yang, Ji Wenbo, Luo Zheng, Li Xiaoyan, Zhao Huizhou, Zhang Yichao, Jin Hui, Lin Zihan, Qu Tingnan, Fang Jianfu, Xie Jiaqi and Peng Jing, were awarded the title of “Bay Area Light · Fashion Figure”;
- YISHION, Fangsuo, and Shenzhen Ellassay Fashion Co., Ltd. won the “Most Commercial Powerful Brand Award”, “Cultural Influence Brand Award” and “Technology and Fashion Driving Force Award” respectively;
- Shi Yinhuan, Mao Jihong, Sun Xiaofei, Huang Zhihua, Chen Zibin, Zheng Suhua, Tang Yiming, Guo Donglin, Zhang Shaojing, Yu Manping, Tong Tianyong, Xu Yu, Chen Ying, Huang Lang, Chen Zhuo and Lin Chun were honored with the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Fashion Industry Meritorious Award”.
Accompanied by the passionate and melodious chorus of “My Motherland and Me”, the 6th GBA Science, Technology, Fashion and Culture Week and the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Fashion Week concluded successfully at Guangzhou Liuhua Exhibition and Trade Center. This several-day industry grand event not only comprehensively demonstrated the vigorous vitality of the GBA fashion industry in fields such as technology empowerment, intangible cultural heritage activation and brand innovation, but also built a core platform for regional collaboration, industry-education integration and international connection. It has injected strong impetus into the industrial transformation and upgrading, marking that the high-quality development of the GBA fashion industry has officially entered a new journey of collaborative innovation and global layout.
