According to Reuters, TASS and other major foreign media reports, the Kremlin stated on December 24 that Russian President Vladimir Putin has received a briefing on the contacts between Dmitryryev, the Russian President’s Special Representative, and White House Envoy Witkov on the “peace plan” draft proposed by the United States. Russia will now formulate its own position based on the information obtained.

As reported, Peskov said, “All the main parameters of Russia’s stance are well known to our US counterparts”. “We now intend to formulate our position on the basis of the information received by the head of state, and will continue contacts through existing working channels in the near future.” However, Peskov declined to disclose Russia’s specific response to the “peace plan” draft or details of the document, noting that the Kremlin would not conduct communications via the media.
Reuters reported that when asked about the document information brought back by Dmitryryev from Miami, Peskov said it was inappropriate to discuss the matter with the media.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed journalists at his office on December 24, stating that the Ukrainian and US delegations had moved close to finalizing a 20-point peace plan during negotiations held in Miami on December 21. Nevertheless, Zelenskyy acknowledged that Ukraine and the United States have yet to reach an agreement on the control over the territory of Donbas and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
