Uniting the Strengths of Liwan and Nanhai to Boost the Development of Time-Honored Brands—The 2025 Liwan-Nanhai Time-Honored Brands Credit Co-construction Themed Event Successfully Held

To thoroughly implement the Foshan-Guangzhou all-round urban integration development strategy and fulfill the deployment requirements of the state, province and city regarding the construction of the social credit system and the integrated development of cultural and tourism industries, recently, the Development and Reform Bureau of Liwan District, Guangzhou, jointly with the Development and Reform Bureau of Nanhai District, Foshan, and the Guangdong Credit Association, launched the “Uniting the Strengths of Liwan and Nanhai to Boost the Development of Time-Honored Brands—The 2025 Liwan-Nanhai Time-Honored Brands Credit Co-construction Themed Event”. Taking the opportunity of building a national demonstration zone for the integrated development of cultural and tourism industries, and with the construction of the credit system as the link, this event takes the co-construction of the “Honest Time-Honored Brands” as the entry point to explore a new path for cross-regional credit cooperation, create a credit card with regional characteristics, and cultivate honest brands with Foshan-Guangzhou cultural identifiers.

The three parties held a forum to conduct in-depth exchanges on district profiles, the progress of honest time-honored brand building, innovative measures for credit construction, as well as opinions and suggestions.

Representatives from the Development and Reform Bureau of Liwan District, Guangzhou and the Development and Reform Bureau of Nanhai District, Foshan jointly signed the Cooperation Memorandum on Establishing a Cross-Regional Mutual Recognition Mechanism for Liwan-Nanhai “Honest Time-Honored Brands”. Based on the advantages of connected historical and cultural veins, complementary industrial foundations, and rich cultural and tourism resources between the two regions, the two cooperating parties, taking China Time-Honored Brands, Guangdong Time-Honored Brands, as well as time-honored brands in Guangzhou and Foshan as the foundation, explore the establishment of a cross-regional mutual recognition mechanism for the integrity construction of time-honored brands, activate the market vitality of time-honored brand enterprises, and provide credit support and cultural-tourism momentum for strengthening the integration and linkage of Foshan-Guangzhou industries and accelerating the building of a high-quality development belt in the west.

Subsequently, representatives of the three parties visited the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Culture Museum and TCM Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Hall of Caizhilin Pharmaceutical, a China Time-Honored Brand. During the interpreter’s popular science session on the cultural connotations of TCM, including its history, geographical origins, pharmaceutical preparations, and efficacy, the participants deepened their understanding of TCM culture and Lingnan dietary health preservation culture, learned about Caizhilin’s work in scientific and technological research and development, enterprise transformation, and new product cultivation, and truly felt the vivid practice of time-honored brand enterprises in unremitting exploration and innovation amid the changes of the times.

In recent years, Liwan District has launched the city’s first “Honest Time-Honored Brands” brand building project, released the first “Honest Time-Honored Brands” visiting route, and selected 9 enterprises into the “Honest Time-Honored Brands” incentive list through strict screening. At the same time, it has collaborated with 4 mainstream travel agencies to develop credit-based tourism products, realizing the goal of “attracting customers with credit and promoting consumption through customers”. To establish and improve the cross-regional coordination mechanism, Liwan District has seized the development opportunity of “Foshan-Guangzhou urban integration and regional integration”, taken the initiative to cooperate with Nanhai and Chancheng Districts of Foshan, broken geographical restrictions, and promoted standard mutual recognition and information sharing among the three districts. As of December 2025, 24 enterprises have been mutually recognized, including Liwan Caizhilin, Nanhai Shuangxi Restaurant, and Chancheng Fengliaoxing Pharmaceutical, achieving the cross-regional linkage development of “Honest Time-Honored Brands”.

Through practice, the brand building of “Honest Time-Honored Brands” has achieved initial results: In 2025, Caizhilin’s “Guangdong Innovative TCM Preparation Transformation Pilot Test Platform” was successfully selected into the first batch of key cultivated pilot test platforms list by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Guangzhou Pharmaceutical successfully listed on the New Third Board; the revenue growth rate of the Women and Children Products Company has been remarkable since the beginning of this year; the CCTV.com video report Travel with the National Games focused on Panxi Restaurant first… More and more honest time-honored brand enterprises have achieved the dual improvement of brand value and operational efficiency with the help of the cross-regional cooperation platform, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.

Time-honored brands are the “cultural calling cards” of a city, and integrity is the “foundation of survival” for time-honored brands. In the next step, Liwan District will continue to deepen the collaborative linkage with Chancheng and Nanhai Districts of Foshan, improve the credit coordination mechanism, optimize the normalized operation mode, strive to promote the cross-regional scenario application of the evaluation results of “Honest Time-Honored Brands” in fields such as financial credit and cultural-tourism benefits for the people, and further expand the coverage of credit application scenarios. It will actively explore emerging integration directions such as “credit + professional markets” and “credit + business districts”, strengthen the replication and promotion of pilot experience in credit parks, continuously enrich the connotation of “credit +”, contribute “Liwan wisdom” to building a demonstration highland for regional credit integration, and continuously polish the “Credit Liwan” brand.
