Bathing in the warm winter sunshine along the Longgang River, the Xiangyun Station at U-Dream Square in Longcheng Sub-district was filled with warmth on the afternoon of December 12. The event themed “Unite Hearts and Forge Synergy for Inclusion and Friendship” for the new employment group of Longcheng Sub-district, namely the “Xinxin Community Governance Volunteers” Campaign, together with the inauguration ceremony of the Xinxin Academy, was held here. Zhang Xingfeng, Member of the Party Working Committee of the Sub-district and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Online Delivery Industry; Zhang Qianfeng, Director of Longcheng Institute of Market Supervision and Administration and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Online Delivery Industry; and Liu Xiaoxia, Dean of Nanhua Anxin Academy, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Xinxin Academy.
The event kicked off with the promotional video A Beautiful Day Starts Here, produced by the Social Work Department of the CPC Longgang District Committee. The footage captured the daily rushing tracks of couriers and the touching moments of their service. When the scenes froze on their smiling faces, a silent resonance rippled through the venue — it was the most simple professional dignity and the truest bond of warmth.
This bond marks the starting point for Longcheng Sub-district to explore the mutual embrace between the new employment group and the city. At the event site, representatives of five pairs of “excellent partners” received custom-made signboards. As the two plaques, representing couriers and security guards respectively, were pieced together, a complete red star lit up on the stage. Vanke Property, Taiji Property and Xuelin Property in the jurisdiction officially paired up with courier representatives from Meituan, JD.com, Pupu Fresh and Ele.me, which instantly highlighted the profound ceremonial implication of “uniting as one for community governance”.
Mr. Zhang Xingfeng and the distinguished guests present jointly unveiled the plaque for the Xinxin Academy, a milestone that signifies Longcheng Sub-district’s service for the new employment group has stepped into a new phase — evolving from basic care to systematic empowerment. Centered closely on the four-dimensional empowerment system of Survival – Life – Self-fulfillment – Ecological Integration, the Academy will develop five themed schools, namely the Happiness School, Safety School, Neighborhood School, Governance School and Growth School. This means that future services will go beyond traditional condolences and lectures, providing a regular menu-based curriculum covering mental health, traffic safety, social integration, governance skill training and career development. It aims to help the new employment group achieve a leap forward from “living and working in peace and contentment” to “realizing personal value”.
Following the inauguration ceremony, Ms. Zhu Liyuan, founding partner of Anxin Academy and Secretary of the Party Branch of New Social Organizations and New Economic Organizations, delivered the first lesson of the Xinxin Academy — How to Be a Happy Person. The lecture was conducted in a relaxed and interactive way: Ms. Zhu guided the participants to rate their current sense of happiness with a score, and raised progressive questions including “What do I lack?”, “What do I have?” and “When was my happiest moment”, inviting the couriers present to reflect and share their thoughts. “I have good health, my family and a stable job”, “I don’t have much money, but I’m free from serious illnesses” — the sincere and unpretentious answers from the couriers filled the classroom with the genuine vibe of life. Ms. Zhu offered timely guidance: “A grateful heart allows us to see more of what we ‘have’ and feel more support around us. Living with such awareness, happiness will grow naturally.” This lecture was not a didactic speech, but a warm heart-to-heart conversation, opening a window for these busy workers to care for themselves and settle their minds.
Subsequently, the event presented practical and heartwarming consolation gift packs to outstanding representatives of the new employment group, which included nutritional milk, thermal water cups and hand cream for hand care, as well as thoughtful emergency kits with first-aid medicines and tools.
“I never thought I could sit down to listen to poetry and talk about life after finishing my deliveries,” an food delivery courier sighed with emotion after the lecture. This lesson is a microcosm of the future blueprint of the Xinxin Academy: it offers not only skills for making a living (Safety School and Growth School), but also hobbies to enrich life (Neighborhood School), care to soothe the soul (Happiness School), and paths to realize personal value (Governance School). From “survival” to “ecological integration”, it is a comprehensive growth menu tailored for the “urban runners”.
This inauguration ceremony epitomizes Longcheng Sub-district’s continuous efforts to deepen Party building and services for the new employment group. In 2025, the sub-district newly established 3 Courier Service Studios and 3 Warm Bee Stations, built 11 Friendly Communities and an additional 5 Courier Service Studios, providing care services to over 3,000 people throughout the year. Going forward, the Xinxin Academy will continue to empower the new employment group through regular courses and activities, guiding these “mobile forces” who rush about day and night to transform into “positive energy” participating in community co-construction, and truly achieving the mutual embrace with the city.
