Longgang District’s “Heguang Initiative” Empowers Traditional Manufacturing Industry with New Media

Longgang District held the Heguang Initiative salon to explore new media’s empowerment for traditional manufacturing. Enterprises and new media practitioners exchanged ideas on industrial integration, with practical solutions shared for industrial growth.

Recently, the Friendship Association of Non-Party Intellectuals of Longgang District, jointly with the Chamber of Commerce of Longgang Subdistrict, held a special salon themed New Media Empowering Traditional Manufacturing Industry under the framework of the “Heguang Initiative”. Over 40 participants attended the salon, including representatives of enterprises engaged in traditional sectors such as garment, leather goods, footwear and jewelry, as well as practitioners in emerging business forms like live-stream e-commerce and short-video operation. All attendees jointly explored the path for the in-depth integration of the manufacturing industry and new media.

This event is part of the Zhinxin brand series launched by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Longgang District Committee. It aims to facilitate cross-boundary exchanges between non-party intellectuals, industrial insiders and innovators, and provide a steady stream of intellectual support for the regional development. Centering on the theme of Exploring the Path of Integrated Coexistence between New Media and Traditional Manufacturing Industry, the salon focused on how to open up new brand accesses and growth space for traditional industries through emerging channels such as short videos and live-stream e-commerce.

During the event, all participants paid on-site visits to Fangyuanli Creative & Intelligent Manufacturing Park and Dafeng Linghang Live-stream Incubation Base. From the demonstration space for industrial upgrading to the on-site operation of new media, they had a vivid and intuitive experience of the chemical reactions between the traditional manufacturing industry and emerging business forms.

In the keynote sharing session, four distinguished guests from the fields of brand strategy, new media operation, e-commerce live streaming and industrial incubation delivered a practical lecture on the content-driven growth system to the participating enterprises.

In the subsequent interactive seminar, enterprise representatives raised questions actively regarding core issues including how to build basic new media capabilitieshow to select cooperation partners and how to solve the problem of products being difficult to present well on screen, and conducted in-depth discussions on the common challenges facing the industry. Many enterprises expressed their intention to cooperate with MCN agencies and live-stream platforms on the spot. Participants unanimously commented that the salon featured strong practicality and high information density, which truly helped enterprises identify feasible development paths and find effective solutions to their problems.
