Recently, the Intellectual Association of Longgang District of Non-Party Affiliates organized member representatives to visit Dafen Oil Painting Village, reputed as China’s No.1 Oil Painting Village, and carried out a special research activity themed “Pooling the Strength of Intellectuals, Sharing the Beauty of Longgang”.
The member representatives visited Dafen Art Museum as well as representative artists’ studios including the Colorful Art Gallery and the Contemporary Art Space, and conducted face-to-face exchanges with creators. They gained a thorough understanding of the current industrial operation mode of Dafen Oil Painting Village, as well as the opportunities and challenges it faces on the path of international development.
At the subsequent special forum, the participating representatives focused on the construction task of building Dafen Oil Painting Village into an international block. Centering on how to leverage the advantages of the Intellectual Association — a gathering of talented individuals with extensive connections — to help elevate Dafen’s international reputation and optimize the display of urban image, they held in-depth discussions. From multiple dimensions including improving public facilities, optimizing visiting routes, developing distinctive cultural and creative products, and raising the international standard of art exhibitions, they put forward a series of constructive and actionable opinions and suggestions.
Moving forward, the Intellectual Association of Longgang District will actively explore the establishment of a park branch in Dafen Oil Painting Village to more closely integrate the strength of new social strata in the park. Seizing the opportunity of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting held in Shenzhen, it will deeply participate in the planning and promotion of Dafen Oil Painting Village’s international image, help enhance its international popularity and influence, and showcase the unique charm of Longgang to the world. Meanwhile, it will actively promote the transformation and upgrading of Dafen Oil Painting Village, guide its members to pay attention to and rely on new technologies such as AI to empower artistic creation and industrial upgrading, inject new development momentum into Dafen Oil Painting Village, and jointly polish this shining international cultural card of Longgang and even Shenzhen.
