To enhance Macao’s visibility and reputation in the international film and television industry, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao (CAM) participated in the “Asia TV Forum & Market” held in Singapore this year for the first time and set up a “Macao Pavilion” to promote Macao’s unique advantages as a film and television shooting location. Meanwhile, the bureau organized local directors to take part in “SGIFF Pro” (Singapore International Film Festival Pro), helping Macao’s film and television talents expand their international cooperation networks.
Organized by RELX (Singapore) Pte Ltd, the “Asia TV Forum & Market” was held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore from December 3 to 5, 2025. As a professional film and television content market exhibition in Asia, it attracts industry representatives from more than 40 countries and regions every year. On this occasion, the Cultural Affairs Bureau showcased Macao’s filming resources—integrating world cultural heritage, modern urban landscapes, and diverse natural scenery—through the “Macao Pavilion”, and introduced Macao’s film and television support policies. This included presenting the “Macao Location Shooting” film and television production funding subsidy scheme to industry insiders from around the world via the Cultural Development Fund, encouraging overseas film and television production teams to come to Macao for location shooting.
During the event, industry representatives from many countries and regions, including Brazil, Australia, Canada, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, visited the “Macao Pavilion” to gain an in-depth understanding of Macao’s filming conditions and details of relevant subsidy applications. Leaders from Singapore’s Ministry of Digital Development and Information also attended the pavilion for visits and exchanges during the period.
In addition, the Cultural Affairs Bureau selected three Macao directors—Lam Kin Kwan, Ding Guanhao, and Mak Kit Wai—who stood out in the “Professional Development Workshop” held during the “2nd Galaxy Entertainment Group Macao International Short Film Festival” to participate in the “Industry Days” of “SGIFF Pro”. They attended various industry events, including forums and workshops, conducted in-depth exchanges with international film and television professionals from all over the world, and learned international experience, with a view to improving their creative and production standards and promoting Macao’s original works to the international stage.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau has actively organized Macao’s film and television industry to participate in international events. This participation in the exhibition in Singapore aims to enable the film and television industries in ASEAN and other regions to further recognize Macao’s filming potential and industrial supporting services, open up international markets for Macao’s film and television service industry, and create more development and cooperation opportunities for local film and television talents.
