To effectively raise the anti-drug awareness of merchants in its jurisdiction and firmly build an anti-drug defense line in the commercial sector, Meisha Sub-district Office recently organized its staff to conduct a targeted anti-drug publicity campaign for shops, by going deep into various business premises including street-front shops, supermarkets and convenience stores in the area.

During the campaign, the staff visited shops along the streets, distributed anti-drug brochures to shop owners and employees, and provided on-site explanations. Combining the pictures and cases in the brochures, they focused on analyzing new-type drugs with strong disguise and deceptive nature such as nitrous oxide and so-called “smart drugs”, exposed their severe harms, and popularized the relevant laws, regulations on drug control as well as drug-reporting channels. The staff reminded the merchants to stay vigilant in daily business operations, keep an eye out for suspicious drug-related situations, and encouraged them to actively provide relevant clues and jointly fulfill their social responsibilities.

Through the precise one-on-one and face-to-face publicity, this campaign delivered anti-drug knowledge directly to the front line of the commercial sector, and effectively improved the ability of street-front merchants to identify and guard against drugs. It has not only strengthened the merchants’ initiative and sense of responsibility in participating in the anti-drug fight, but also strongly promoted the construction of a community-based anti-drug pattern relying on mass prevention and governance, laying a solid foundation for creating a safe and drug-free business environment and community atmosphere.
