On December 27, the opening ceremony of the “Million Talents Gathering in South Guangdong” 2025 Autumn Large – Scale Comprehensive Job Fair, co – sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, was held in Shenzhen. Meng Fanli, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, attended the ceremony. Xiong Sihao, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, Li Yun, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, and Qin Weizhong, Mayor of Shenzhen, were present and delivered speeches. Tang Yifeng, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, and Sun Zhiyang, Mayor of Guangzhou, also attended the event.
Prior to the opening ceremony, Meng Fanli, Xiong Sihao and other attendees visited the “Robot Martial Arts Conference” exhibition area as well as the booths of enterprises such as BYD and EHang. During the ceremony, Guangdong Province released the achievements made since the launch of the “Million Talents Gathering in South Guangdong” action plan. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD and a representative of leading enterprises, Zhang Jin, Executive Vice President of Peking University and a representative of university leaders from the “Hundreds of Universities Gather in South Guangdong” initiative, and Zhang Zhihan, a representative of young people who have come to work in Guangdong, delivered speeches respectively.
It is reported that Guangdong Province has earnestly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on promoting high – quality and full employment, and attached great importance to talent – related work. Since the beginning of this year, it has innovatively implemented the “Million Talents Gathering in South Guangdong” action plan. Up to now, more than 5,000 job fairs have been held, attracting over 1.1 million university graduates to work and start businesses in Guangdong. With the theme of “Gather Talents in Guangdong, Shape the Future”, this autumn large – scale comprehensive job fair has gathered 1,825 key employers. For the first time, it has set up a Leading Enterprise Zone and an APEC Talent Matching Service Zone, providing more than 65,000 high – quality jobs. It has attracted more than 120,000 students from over 1,700 universities at home and abroad to register for participation. Guangdong Province will fully implement more proactive, open and effective talent policies, carefully organize various job – recruitment activities, promote the connection between supply and demand and job matching, introduce, cultivate, utilize and serve all types of talents with the greatest efforts, and strive to build a high – level talent highland in the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Greater Bay Area.
