Recently, Pinghai Town carried out a legal publicity campaign at Bangshan Park. Through setting up stalls, displaying exhibition boards, and providing face-to-face Q&A services, the town brought the spirit of the Constitution and practical legal knowledge to the general public.
At Bangshan Park, the publicity event was held in a lively atmosphere with a constant stream of people gathering around the stalls. Staff members distributed publicity materials such as the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, the Civil Code of the People’s Republic of China, and the Minors Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, while giving detailed explanations on legal issues of public concern, including marriage and family affairs as well as rights and interests protection. Meanwhile, the Constitution publicity boards nearby featured rich and detailed content, covering the core spirit of the Constitution, anti-drug knowledge, anti-fraud skills, and key points of minor protection. The intuitive and easy-to-understand displays attracted many citizens to stop and learn.
Zhang Yongqin, Deputy Director of the Pinghai Town Peace and Rule of Law Office in Huidong County, said: “The purposes of holding this Constitution publicity campaign are twofold. First, to enhance the legal awareness of residents in the jurisdiction and guide them to learn, abide by, and apply the law; second, to strengthen the anti-drug awareness of teenagers and help them recognize the harms of drugs from an early age.”
With its down-to-earth publicity methods, the event made the concept of the rule of law take root in people’s hearts. It not only improved the legal literacy of the local residents but also built a solid anti-drug defense line starting from the youth group, creating a strong atmosphere for building a safe and law-based Pinghai.
A citizen commented: “Through the advertisements and publicity arranged today, I have learned a lot of constitutional knowledge that I didn’t know before, and I can also tell which behaviors may involve violations of the law.”
