Deliverymen safeguarding safety late at night, riders rushing into fire scenes, couriers offering caring help to the elderly… Over the past month, the new employment groups in Qianshan Sub-district of Xiangzhou District have actively participated in grassroots governance practices, writing a new chapter in building a harmonious community with a series of heartwarming actions. At the same time, the sub-district and community have launched a series of reward services, further creating a positive cycle between “dedication” and “care” to achieve mutual benefits.

Kind acts release positive energy. In the early morning of December 16, 2025, Ding Xinguo, a deliveryman, noticed a girl sitting alone by the roadside looking dejected when passing through Qianshan Riverside Park. He took the initiative to offer his care, patiently comforted her, and promptly called the police for help. A dozen minutes later, the police arrived and safely sent the girl home. Later, a visit by staff from Zaobei Community found that the girl had run away from home late at night after a conflict with her family due to poor communication during the day. Thanks to Ding Xinguo’s careful observation and timely report, valuable time was gained to resolve this late-night crisis.

In critical moments, there are always people who step forward bravely. On the evening of December 24, 2025, a car suddenly caught fire near Qianshan Market. Qi Zifeng, a rider from Xiaoxiang Supermarket who was on a delivery trip, spotted the danger, quickly grabbed a fire extinguisher from a nearby store and rushed to the scene to put out the fire. Meanwhile, Lai Muhai, a rider from Taobao Flash Sale, took the initiative to evacuate the crowd and call the police—guiding onlookers to leave and dialing 119 for help at the same time. The two remained calm in the face of danger and cooperated in an orderly manner, effectively containing the fire before the fire brigade arrived. Afterwards, the Qianshan Sub-district Office awarded them cash prizes in recognition of their social responsibility as riders.

Sometimes, small deeds can better reflect the warmth in the world. Starting from December 26, 2025, Zhu Zhousheng, a courier from Yunda Express, and Zhong Shaohui, a collector and deliverer from China Post, have responded actively to the needs of residents in Qianshan New Town Community, providing home meal delivery service for elderly people with mobility impairments. They first pick up meal boxes from the elderly’s homes, then go to the senior canteen to pack meals, and finally deliver them to each household one by one. The several-hundred-meter path in the community, which used to be inconvenient for the elderly to travel, has become warm and accessible because of the caring relay of these two couriers. As of January 9, 2026, they have provided meal delivery services for 9 days, serving 19 elderly residents in the community, and have continuously fulfilled their commitment to offer assistance.

The above cases are just a microcosm of the new employment groups in Qianshan Sub-district participating in grassroots social governance. Many ordinary workers from the delivery and courier industries are practicing the governance concept with their professional sensitivity and sense of responsibility. They exchange services for services and promote governance through dedication, and their heartwarming efforts have also received sincere rewards from the sub-district.

To address the problem of “difficulty entering residential communities” reflected by the new employment groups, relevant departments of Qianshan Sub-district have taken the initiative to set up a consultation platform. Recently, in Qilin Garden Community of Daishan Neighborhood, through multi-party communication, the ban time for food delivery and courier electric vehicles to enter the community has been extended from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. In Anyi Garden Community, the property management has been optimized to allow riders from Hema Fresh, Sam’s Club Delivery, Xiaoxiang Supermarket and other platforms to enter the community by bike for delivery, effectively improving delivery efficiency and convenience.

At the same time, Qianshan Sub-district has strengthened the safety guarantee for workers in the industry. It regularly organizes professional training on fire safety and first-aid knowledge for the new employment groups, distributes practical supplies such as first-aid kits, and enhances their emergency response skills and occupational security. In addition, it has linked up with insurance company resources to provide exclusive accident insurance policies for the new employment groups, escorting their safe travel.
