December 4 this year marks the 12th “National Constitution Day”. To promote the spirit of the Constitution and enhance the whole society’s awareness of the Constitution, the Legal Affairs Bureau of Macao recently held the “In-depth Tour of the Constitution and the Basic Law of Macao” activity at the Macao Basic Law Memorial Hall. The activity featured a rich and diverse range of contents, including legal popularization workshops, interactive booth games, creative eco-bag handcrafts, VR and touch-screen computer games, quiz contests with prizes, and guided tours. Through various interactive methods, it deepened the public’s understanding of the Constitution and the Basic Law of Macao.
To further strengthen the social force for legal popularization, the Legal Affairs Bureau held the inauguration ceremony of the “Legal Popularization Lecture Group” on the same day, with members coming from different age groups and professional fields. After the inauguration, the lecture group immediately launched its first community lecture tour, going deep into various districts of Macao to explain the core contents of the Constitution and the Basic Law of Macao, and promoting the integration of the rule of law concept into the community.
In addition, to support the publicity of “National Constitution Day”, the Legal Affairs Bureau recently launched an online legal knowledge quiz game for “National Constitution Day” and held “Understanding the Constitution” campus lectures in many primary and secondary schools in Macao. Meanwhile, the Legal Affairs Bureau collaborated with the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone and the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Justice to jointly organize the “Constitution Publicity Week · Little Judge Experience—Mock Court Experience” activity. The series of legal promotion activities for “National Constitution Day” this year attracted nearly 44,000 participants in total.
In the future, the Legal Affairs Bureau will continue to hold legal promotion activities targeting different age groups, extensively publicize the Constitution and the Basic Law of Macao through diverse channels and innovative forms, and actively create a social atmosphere where people know and abide by the law.
