Hangzhan 1st Road in Fuyong Subdistrict, Bao’an District to Open Soon

“This road has been beautifully renovated. I can see clusters of blooming Handroanthus impetiginosus right from my window at home, and the quality of our residential community has been greatly upgraded.” On the afternoon of December 23, residents living in Anju Konggang Huayuan Talent Housing Estate along Hangzhan 1st Road spoke highly of the road, which is set to open to traffic soon. The road will be officially open after the traffic police complete the timing adjustment of traffic signals at the intersection of Hangzhan 1st Road and Jinli Road.

The newly-constructed Hangzhan 1st Road (formerly Jinsheng Road) is one of the key projects under Bao’an District’s Three-Year Action Plan for Transportation Construction. Located in Xingwei Community, Fuyong Subdistrict, it starts at Jinxing Road and ends at Jinli Road, with a total length of over 300 meters and a planned red-line width of 36 meters. As an urban secondary arterial road with six bidirectional lanes, it serves as a vital internal circulation road for residents in the airport area to reach Bao’an Boulevard and National Highway G107.

In recent years, with the rapid construction and development of the airport area, coupled with the successive completion and operation of supporting facilities including Anju Konggang Huayuan Talent Housing Estate and Hangxing School along the road, the traffic volume on the surrounding roads of Hangzhan 1st Road has risen sharply, bringing mounting pressure on the local internal traffic circulation. To complete the road construction as soon as possible and improve travel efficiency, Fuyong Subdistrict, as the project developer, attached great importance to the construction of Hangzhan 1st Road. While ensuring smooth communication and coordination with nearby organizations and residents, it required the construction unit to deploy more large-scale machinery and equipment to accelerate the construction progress and ensure construction quality, thus guaranteeing the project’s on-schedule completion. Upon its opening, Hangzhan 1st Road will effectively optimize the road network structure, strengthen internal traffic connectivity in the area, ease local traffic congestion, and boost the economic and social development of the surrounding regions.

The completion of Hangzhan 1st Road has not only smoothed urban traffic flow, but also enhanced the urban landscape. “Road construction nowadays is no longer merely for meeting traffic needs. Instead, we aim to organically integrate roads into the urban fabric and turn them into an important part of shaping urban scenery,” said Lai Gang, the on-site project director. To make the road both unobstructed and visually appealing, 56 Handroanthus impetiginosus trees, 59 Dracontomelon duperreanum trees and showy Hibiscus rosa-sinensis with large and beautiful blossoms have been planted on both sides of the road. At present, Handroanthus impetiginosus is in full bloom, making it the perfect time for sightseeing. During the interview, the blooming Handroanthus impetiginosus on both sides of Hangzhan 1st Road formed a sea of purple flowers, creating a romantic scenery under the sunshine and attracting many residents to take a walk and snap photos here.
