To further implement the “1310” work deployment of the Provincial Party Committee and advance the “High-quality Development Project for 100 Counties, 1,000 Towns and 10,000 Villages” in depth, on December 24, Zhao Hongwei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shenzhen Anju Group, and Cao Xiang, responsible person of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Urban Public Safety Technology Research Institute, led a joint team to Tanxi Town, Lufeng City. Centering on industrial empowerment and people’s livelihood guarantee, the team carried out research on paired assistance and cooperation for rural revitalization at the town level. Zheng Xiaomin, Deputy Commander of the Shenzhen-aided Shanwei Cooperation Headquarters, Yuan Xiaobing, Leader of the Shenzhen-aided Lufeng Work Group, Zheng Xiaoxue, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tanxi Town, Lin Zhiqiang, Mayor of Tanxi Town, and the town-level paired assistance work team accompanied the research.
The first stop of the research group focused on industrial revitalization. The group visited the “Sweet Potato and Rice Industrial Demonstration Zone” in Tanxi Town, Lufeng City — a village-cooperative project of Tianhe Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise in Guangdong Province introduced by the town-level paired assistance work team. They conducted on-site inspections of virus-free seedling cultivation, technological application, and the connection between production and sales. Based on the agricultural resource endowment of Tanxi, Zhao Hongwei made it clear that Anju Group will leverage its platform advantages to help expand the sales channels of local characteristic agricultural products such as sweet potatoes, provide skill training for industrial workers and targeted employment opportunities for the local surplus labor force, and meet the employment demands of industries such as garment processing and breeding in Tanxi. Cao Xiang proposed that the Shenzhen Urban Public Safety Technology Research Institute will provide technical support to improve the risk prevention and control and operational efficiency of the base, focus on the construction of industrial standardization, promote the upgrading of “small sweet potato business” into a “large-scale industry”, and help Tanxi Town achieve the development goal of expanding the village-level collective economy.
In the aspect of people’s livelihood assistance, the two sides made joint efforts to address shortcomings. Zhao Hongwei and his entourage went to Lufeng Aizhi Kangyang Garden (Lufeng Elderly Care Home) to investigate the operation of elderly care service facilities, exchanged details about daily care and medical security with the person in charge of the garden, and extended sincere greetings and winter care to the elderly living there. Meanwhile, they visited Tanxi Middle School, inspected the planning and layout of the school’s sports venues and the allocation and use of sports equipment, and donated educational supplies on-site to escort the growth of rural teenagers. Cao Xiang and his entourage attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the drainage ditch construction project in Ximei Village, emphasized strict control over project quality to solve the problem of flood prevention and drainage for villagers, and distributed daily necessities to the needy elderly in the village during the subsequent elderly care activity. In recognition of the tangible results of the assistance provided by the Shenzhen enterprise, Ximei Village presented a silk banner inscribed with “Devoting Wholehearted Efforts to Village Assistance, Warming Hearts with Respect for the Elderly” to the Shenzhen Urban Public Safety Technology Research Institute.
During the research, Zhao Hongwei and Cao Xiang encouraged the town-level paired assistance work team to foster a strong sense of dedication to serving the people, focus on solving the urgent, difficult, and anxious problems of the masses, and accurately meet their needs. Both sides stated that they will continue to give play to the resource and technological advantages of Shenzhen enterprises, deepen the collaborative linkage with Tanxi Town, make greater efforts in industrial quality improvement, people’s livelihood enhancement, and talent cultivation, and inject more impetus from Shenzhen enterprises into Tanxi Town’s efforts to achieve the goal of “strong villages, wealthy people and beautiful environment”.
