On December 4, the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation held the launch ceremony of the citywide special rectification campaign for the quality and safety of key industrial products. The campaign aims to thoroughly implement the deployment requirements of the State Administration for Market Regulation on investigating and rectifying potential quality and safety hazards of key industrial products, fulfill responsibilities and duties, promote systematic improvement of product quality across the city, effectively safeguard the lives and property of the people, and strive to create a reassuring consumption environment. Cai Yingquan, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Administration, delivered a speech and announced the launch of the campaign.
This special rectification campaign will focus on key industrial products such as mobile power banks, electric bicycles, gas appliances, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In accordance with the implementation steps of “comprehensive investigation, systematic rectification, standardized improvement, and summary and consolidation”, it will take decisive and holistic measures to address both symptoms and root causes, maintain long-term efforts to achieve tangible results, and fully consolidate the quality and safety defense line for key industrial products in the city. All clues related to media exposures and consumer complaints and reports will be 100% verified. Drawing lessons from individual cases, a “carpet-style” investigation of potential quality and safety hazards of key industrial products across the city will be carried out. Illegal acts such as unlicensed production, counterfeit certification, substandard quality, and false publicity will be severely punished in accordance with the law, and credit supervision and joint punishment will be strengthened for illegal and irregular enterprises. The campaign will also strengthen the source traceability of problematic products, urge enterprises to fulfill their quality and safety responsibilities, establish a “daily control, weekly inspection, and monthly scheduling” mechanism, implement the coding verification system for online-sold products of manufacturing enterprises, and guide the industry towards high-quality, branded, and sustainable development.
