Journalists learned from Shenzhen railway authorities that the city’s railway network will see a passenger flow peak on the first day of the New Year holiday (January 1st), with an estimated 402,000 passengers to be sent on that day. Among them, Shenzhen North Railway Station is expected to handle 294,000 passengers.
It is reported that during the New Year holiday, on the basis of implementing the peak-period train diagram, the railway department will increase transportation capacity on popular routes. It plans to add more than 200 passenger trains running from Shenzhen to Changsha, Nanning, Ganzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou and other destinations, including over 100 overnight high-speed trains. In addition, more than 20 passenger trains will be operated with double-headed consist to fully meet passengers’ travel demands. During the New Year holiday, Shenzhen Railway Station will launch direct high-speed train services to Maoming South Railway Station and Zhanjiang North Railway Station for the first time.
