Residents of Yuanda Meiyu New Town Community in Tangjiawan Town Upgrade Their Lifts – Renovation of 31 Old Elevators Launched Simultaneously

Recently, residents of Yuanda Meiyu New Town Community in Tangjiawan Town, High-tech Zone, celebrated a long-awaited happy event – the official start of the renovation project for 31 old elevators in the community. This is currently the largest elevator renovation project in the High-tech Zone.

Funding is the key to the renovation of old elevators. Taking full advantage of the national ultra-long-term special treasury bond funds, the project provides a subsidy of 150,000 yuan per elevator, effectively reducing the economic burden on residents. “This subsidy is very timely for us and has greatly eased the pressure of raising funds,” sighed a resident of the community. This tangible people-benefiting measure has made residents full of expectations for a safe and comfortable elevator-riding environment.

The project promotion is not a government-led monopoly; instead, it gives full play to the main role of residents. Adhering to the principle of “Selecting Excellence for Co-construction and Implementing Targeted Policies”, Tangjiawan Town has taken the property management committee of the community as the lead, and selected experienced and powerful construction units through public bidding.

With the coordination of Houhuan Community, the property management committee and the construction units have closely cooperated and thoroughly listened to residents’ opinions. In the end, instead of adopting a one-size-fits-all approach to choose a single brand, the community selected different brands of elevators by zones according to the actual situation of each building and residents’ wishes, and scientifically optimized the construction plan and construction period arrangement to minimize the impact on residents’ daily lives.

To ensure the whole renovation process is carried out in an open and transparent manner, the project has established a synchronous online and offline publicity mechanism. Information such as contract documents, construction plans, and notices is publicly released in a timely manner, fully safeguarding residents’ right to know and participate. The property management committee has actively played a bridging role, extensively collecting and promptly feeding back residents’ opinions; the construction units have set up fixed offices in the community to respond to residents’ demands at any time. This open and transparent communication method has effectively resolved potential conflicts and created a harmonious atmosphere for co-construction.

Under the guidance of the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of the High-tech Zone, Tangjiawan Town has taken the overall lead, Houhuan Community has promoted the project in coordination, and the property management committee has taken specific implementation responsibilities, forming a collaborative mechanism of “Government Guidance, Community Coordination, Resident Participation and Multi-party Co-construction” with clear division of labor and smooth connection. This model has effectively pooled the strength of all parties, ensured the smooth progress of the renovation work, and provided a replicable example for steadily advancing the renovation of old residential communities and responding to the concerns of the public, significantly enhancing the sense of gain, happiness and security of residents in the area.
