On the morning of November 18th, the Yuexiu District Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened the 19th Meeting of its 16th Standing Committee in the auditorium on the third floor of the district government building. The event also functioned as a lecture dedicated to studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
At the meeting, the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions delivered during his inspection tour of Guangdong and his attendance at the opening ceremony of the 15th National Games was communicated and studied. In addition, Guo Huan, Chairman of the District CPPCC Committee, delivered a keynote lecture on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC. The meeting also invited Associate Professor Lin Liulin from the Party School of the Municipal Party Committee to give a special lecture titled Accelerating the Construction of a Modern Industrial System – In-depth Study and Implementation of the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC. In her lecture, she conducted an in-depth analysis of the domestic and international development situation as well as the development direction of the modern industrial system in Guangzhou Municipality and Yuexiu District, helping the committee members fully and systematically grasp the spirit of the plenary session.
The meeting emphasized three key points. Firstly, it is imperative to integrate the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions with that of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, as well as with the series of important speeches and instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on Guangdong-related work, so as to study and understand them in an integrated manner and implement them comprehensively. Secondly, it is essential to deeply comprehend the strategic tasks and major initiatives for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and pool efforts to enable Yuexiu to firmly take on a pivotal role in this period. Thirdly, it is necessary to uphold the overall leadership of the CPC over the CPPCC, give full play to the CPPCC’s role as a specialized consultative body, and ensure the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC is thoroughly implemented in all aspects of the CPPCC’s performance of duties.
Approximately 250 participants attended the meeting, including members of the leading group of the District CPPCC Committee, standing committee members and regular committee members of the District CPPCC, as well as all staff of the CPPCC district office.
