Air raid sirens were activated again in Kyiv, Ukraine on December 27, local time.

Starting in the early hours of the 27th, air raid sirens blared repeatedly across Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces had launched a joint strike with drones and missiles against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure since 18:00 local time on December 26.

For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defence stated on December 27 that from the night of the 26th to the early morning of the 27th, Russian troops launched a large-scale strike using ground-based, air-launched and sea-launched long-range high-precision weapons — including the Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) — targeting energy infrastructure facilities used by Ukrainian troops as well as enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex. The strike was in retaliation for Ukraine’s attacks on civilian facilities on Russian territory.
