As a third-batch model town cultivation object of the provincial “Millions of Projects”, Luzhou Town highlights the characteristic style theme of “Pastoral Landscape · Oxygen-Rich Luzhou”, with a total investment of about 50 million yuan to implement model town cultivation projects. Focusing on the construction of “seven ones” projects, it is building a beautiful town suitable for living, working and traveling.
At present, the construction of the town entrance passage, beautiful demonstration main street, facade improvement model of houses and beautiful greenway has been completed, while the green and ecological small park, farmers’ market and beautiful town reception hall are stepping up the finishing touches.
The 7-kilometer image improvement project of the town entrance passage starts from the town sign at the entrance of the town, integrates bamboo elements, and has significantly improved the “first impression” of the town through measures such as road upgrading, greening and beautification, and landscape creation. On the beautiful demonstration main street, sidewalks and street lamps have been renovated, “three lines” (power lines, communication lines and cable TV lines) have been moved underground, 79 illegal constructions have been rectified, and 8.5 kilometers of messy lines have been bundled, making the space safer and more beautiful. With a construction area of 702 square meters, the town reception hall is a public activity space integrating product exhibition and sales, tourism services and cultural experience, built by using idle buildings. After the completion of soft decoration construction, it will become an important window and comprehensive service platform for centrally displaying Luzhou’s characteristic agricultural products, landscape culture and rural revitalization achievements. Xuanzhi Rice Generates 3 Million Yuan in Revenue, Blueberry Orchard Achieves Over 10 Million Yuan in Output Value
Luzhou has outstanding ecological environment endowments, with 23,000 mu of cultivated land resources, 230,000 mu of dense forest land, and a forest coverage rate of 59.93%. Known as the “back garden” of Huicheng, it has a solid foundation for the development of agricultural industries.
Luzhou has made great efforts in the development of characteristic agriculture. Last year, under the guidance of the Rice Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the agricultural technology departments at the municipal and district levels, the town introduced high-quality varieties and launched the Luzhou Xuanzhi Rice demonstration planting project, turning nearly 100 mu of “sleeping” land into “black gold”. The 140-mu intelligent blueberry orchard built in 2024 has achieved an output of 180 tons and an output value of 11.88 million yuan this year, driving 120 people to employment in the surrounding areas, realizing double improvement of economic and social benefits.
At present, Huicheng District’s first modern seedling raising base and Lucun drying factory have been completed and put into use, and the shredded potato processing factory, bamboo processing factory and agricultural product distribution center are expected to be completed by the end of the year. Luzhou’s agricultural industry chain has been continuously improved, which will provide diversified services such as cleaning, sorting, packaging and exhibition for agricultural products, and the effects of strengthening, supplementing and extending the industrial chain have become increasingly apparent.
New breakthroughs have been made in investment promotion in the green and low-carbon industrial park. Two high-quality projects (such as Hanyang medical waste treatment and Jinglan fly ash disposal projects) have entered the stage of planning and site selection research, injecting new momentum into industrial upgrading. “It was pitch black here before, but now the street lamps are on, and we don’t have to go out in the dark anymore!” In August this year, the newly installed street lamps in the Lulan area of Luzhou Town won praise from villagers. This street lamp lighting project starts from Sanzhou Village in Luzhou, passes through Fuxing Village, Lanpai Village and Xiangyuan Village, and ends at Lanxing Village.
