Recently, Xiachong Sub-district launched a centralized unified rectification campaign for tourism order. Led by the relevant person in charge of the sub-district, the campaign formed a special rectification team consisting of staff from the Emergency Management Office, Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Team, Construction and Road Affairs Department, Culture, Sports and Tourism Affairs Department, Vessel Management Group, as well as Xiachong Police Station, Traffic Police Squadron, Market Supervision Institute and relevant village (community) staff. This team has created a joint supervision force to comprehensively purify the tourism market environment.
On Xiaojingwan Seafood Street, the water tanks at the entrance of each seafood restaurant are filled with fresh and lively seafood such as shrimps, crabs, fish and shellfish. Each type of aquatic product is clearly marked with a unit price, and the price tags are standardized and unified. Prominent signs reading “Guaranteed Weight” and “Honest Operation” are hung above the water tanks. Meanwhile, the restaurants have also set up warm reminders stating “Price Calculation Before Consumption, Order According to Needs and Appropriate Amounts”, allowing tourists to consume with greater peace of mind.
“At present, all seafood catering businesses in Xiachong have completed the unification and standardization of price tags. Through regular training for operators, we guide merchants to adhere to the bottom line of honest operation, treat customers politely, and win tourists’ recognition with high-quality services,” a staff member from Xiachong Market Supervision Institute introduced. In response to common issues in seafood consumption such as measurement deviations and ambiguous pricing, law enforcement officers have established a regular inspection mechanism to promptly urge rectification of any irregular business practices discovered.
The improvement of the tourism environment is reflected not only in the consumption sector but also in all aspects of the scenic area experience. Looking out from the glass curtain wall of the Dayawan (Xiachong) Cultural and Art Center, green trees, sandy beaches and blue sea form a natural picture. The renovated beach area is clean and tidy, with many tourists playing on the sand with their children. “The beach here is well maintained, the sand is fine and clean, and the supporting facilities are complete. I feel very at ease bringing my child here to play,” said Mr. Huang, a tourist from Huicheng District, praising Xiachong’s tourism environment.
During the rectification, staff also distributed A Letter to All Operators to businesses in the area, calling on them to actively participate in the joint construction of the coastal tourism market and operate with integrity. It is understood that since November this year, Xiachong Sub-district has launched a 100-day special rectification campaign for the coastal tourism market environment, focusing on rectifying irregularities in key areas such as business practices in catering establishments, operating order of the accommodation industry, parking fees and traffic order, the environment around beaches and greenways, and safety supervision of marine leisure and entertainment activities.
A relevant person in charge of Xiachong Sub-district stated that the sub-district will establish a regular rectification and inspection mechanism, adopt a “zero tolerance” attitude towards any behavior that damages Xiachong’s coastal tourism market environment and reputation, and severely crack down on such acts in accordance with laws and regulations. It will continuously improve the quality of tourism services, making the coastal tourist resort a travel destination that reassures tourists and satisfies local residents.
