To thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and directives on the protection of minors, effectively enforce the newly issued Regulations on the Protection of Minors in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone, and urge educational administrative departments and schools at all levels across the city to perform their duties in accordance with the law, the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education organized a special training session on the Regulations on the Protection of Minors in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone and a special report meeting for the education system under the “Hundred Jurists, Hundred Lectures” Initiative at Zhuhai No.1 High School on the afternoon of December 23. Zhao Meng, Director of the Social Construction Work Committee of the Standing Committee of Zhuhai Municipal People’s Congress, was invited to deliver a guiding report. The meeting was hosted by Xie Fang, Member of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, Party Member and Deputy Director of the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education. Approximately 360 educators from educational administrative departments and various schools (kindergartens) at all levels in the city attended the training.
At the meeting, Director Zhao Meng conducted an in-depth interpretation of the Regulations on the Protection of Minors in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone from three aspects: legislative background, legislative thinking and main contents. Combined with the daily work practices of schools, he focused on explaining the responsibilities that educational administrative departments and schools should fulfill in the protection of minors. In her opening remarks, Deputy Director Xie Fang pointed out that the promulgation and implementation of the Regulations fully reflected the great importance and sincere care of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, the Standing Committee of Zhuhai Municipal People’s Congress and Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government for the healthy growth of minors. It was a landmark event in building a legal barrier for the healthy growth of minors in the city, and would surely promote the quality and efficiency of the city’s minor protection work to a new level. She emphasized the need to effectively study, publicize and implement the Regulations, and take the opportunity of its implementation to comprehensively improve the level of school safety work. Principals and teachers who attended the training said that through this training, they had further deepened their understanding and mastery of the Regulations. They would fully implement the requirements of the Regulations in their future work, continuously improve their capabilities and standards in minor protection with a solid work style, and safeguard the physical and mental health of minors.
The Regulations on the Protection of Minors in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone will come into force on January 1, 2026. In the next step, the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education will continue to organize special learning activities for teachers and all educators across the city, promote the integration of minor protection into the whole process of school management, teaching activities and campus culture construction, strive to build an all-staff, whole-process and all-round protection pattern, and promote the all-round development and healthy growth of minors in Zhuhai.
