Recently, the two-day 2025 Zhuhai-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Talents Culture & Art Carnival came to a successful close at the Leshi Cultural Zone in Zhuhai. Centered around the theme of A Chronicle of Youth Glory, the event integrated art performances, talent exchanges and cultural experiences through a diverse array of activities including a dance competition, a Cantonese song contest, talent salons and art showcases. It vividly demonstrated the youthful vitality and innovative spirit of young people from Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao.
The Carnival was supported by the Talent Work Leading Group Office of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, jointly hosted by the Communist Youth League Zhuhai Municipal Committee, the Zhuhai Youth Federation and the Zhuhai Students’ Federation, and undertaken by the Communist Youth League committees of various universities in Zhuhai.
In the final round of the dance competition, teams from seven universities in Zhuhai competed on the same stage. Song of the Herdsmen by Zhuhai University of Science and Technology won the Gold Award, while Jade Bird by Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai Campus) and Yingge Rhapsody by Zhuhai Art College claimed the Silver Award and Bronze Award respectively. The Cantonese song contest was equally splendid, with the Original Music Society of Sun Yat-sen University taking home the Gold Award with their original song Youth Glory.
Under the theme of Building Dreams in the Greater Bay Area · Coexistence in Diversity, the talent salon gathered inheritors of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), cross-border entrepreneurs, outstanding young talents in science and technology, and talent policy experts to discuss development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. Zhou Haorong, General Manager of Zhuhai Rongqin Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., shared practical experience in the innovative preservation and promotion of ICH; Zeng Wanwen, Member of the Zhuhai Youth Federation and a young Macao entrepreneur, recounted her personal journey witnessing the development of Zhuhai and Macao; Wang Chang, Deputy General Manager of Zhuhai Xiaojing Dahe Technology Co., Ltd., explored innovative approaches to the integration of science and culture; and representatives from the Municipal Talent Work Office delivered a detailed interpretation of Zhuhai’s policy measures and service systems to support youth development.
The Youth Art Showcase and Award Ceremony on the closing day brought together selected performances from various universities and award-winning works of the competitions, featuring diverse forms and profound connotations. Interactive zones including the ICH Innovation Workshop and a talent policy promotion area were also set up at the venue, enabling young participants to experience traditional culture and gain one-stop access to Zhuhai’s supportive policies on employment, entrepreneurship and housing security.
This Carnival is not only a concentrated display of the artistic talents of young people from Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao, but also a concrete measure to deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges and promote youth integration among the three regions. A responsible person from the Communist Youth League Zhuhai Municipal Committee stated that in the future, the committee will continue to collaborate with Hong Kong and Macao to build more diverse, open and professional platforms for youth exchanges, continuously optimize the development environment for young people, and inject surging youthful momentum into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
