From new breakthroughs in marine economy to fresh achievements of Hengqin cooperation, Zhuhai is forging ahead valiantly in the tide of the new era with a completely new posture, composing a brand-new chapter for the modernization drive of the city. To help military retired cadres bridge the digital divide and embrace the wave of information, the Zhuhai Military Veteran Service Center has recently meticulously organized 89 military retired cadres and staff members to visit the Marine Science Popularization Base of the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai) and the Hengqin Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Museum. They embarked on an immersive journey to explore the city’s development in depth, and personally experienced the new vitality of Zhuhai as it strives to achieve leapfrog development with a high-spirited attitude during the crucial period of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
During the activity, the military retired cadres acted as seekers of knowledge to explore the vast blue ocean together. Stepping into the Marine Science Popularization Base of the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai), they roamed in the ocean of knowledge, systematically learned marine science knowledge, and felt the stunning charm of the Zhuhai Cloud marine simulator — the cutting-edge scientific research achievement of the laboratory — at close range. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the latest development dynamics of Zhuhai’s booming marine industry, as if being immersed in the magnificent vision of building a strong maritime country.
Meanwhile, they also acted as inheritors of culture to seek the profound essence of traditional Chinese medicine. When visiting the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Experience Museum, they savored the profound wisdom inherited from the millennia-old traditional Chinese medicine, and admired the magnificent epic of the culture — from its origin and development to its glory and future prospects. It was like traveling through time and space to have a dialogue spanning thousands of years with the ancient medical sages and predecessors.
There were also the silent and dedicated figures of volunteers who accompanied everyone warmly throughout the activity. Eight volunteers who are also military retired cadres took on the responsibility of activity safety guarantee. They walked among the participants, paid close attention to the needs of each military retired cadre, provided patient guidance and careful explanations, and firmly played an exemplary vanguard role. With their modest endeavors, they perfectly interpreted the volunteer spirit of dedication, fraternity, mutual assistance and progress.
