Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education Holds Special Training Meeting on Work Safety and for Safety Officers of Directly Affiliated Schools

To thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on work safety, further strengthen the safety management of the city’s education system, and improve the campus safety risk prevention and control capabilities of all schools, the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education organized a special training meeting on work safety and for safety officers of directly affiliated schools in Conference Room 601 of Building 1 on December 3. Relevant responsible comrades for security work of education administrative departments of all districts, leading cadres in charge (safety officers) of directly affiliated schools, and staff of the Security Section of the Municipal Bureau of Education attended the training.

The training session featured a distinct theme, rich content and prominent priorities. By organizing the viewing of the warning film on the “12·4” major collapse accident of the Shenzhen-Shenjiang Railway, all participants drew profound lessons from the accident and further consolidated their awareness of risk prevention and bottom-line thinking. Campus fire safety training was carried out, explaining the importance of fire prevention and fire safety hazard investigation, learning in depth from the lessons of fires in Hong Kong, and effectively strengthening the fire protection work of campus buildings. Knowledge on forest fire prevention and extinguishing was learned, clarifying the key work priorities of schools in forest fire prevention. Concentrated study and promotion of the Safety Guidelines for Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergartens were conducted, improving the standardization and scientization level of campus safety work. This training enabled all participants to gain a more specific and in-depth understanding of campus safety knowledge, which will further promote the steady and solid progress of campus safety work.

The meeting emphasized that education administrative departments of all districts and all schools should take this training as an opportunity to further raise their political standing and firmly establish the concept of safe development. First, it is necessary to compact safety responsibilities at all levels, with the principal responsible persons earnestly fulfilling their duties as the first responsible persons, promoting the close integration of safety theory with work practice, and ensuring that all measures are implemented in place. Second, it is required to continuously and thoroughly investigate and rectify hidden dangers, focusing on key areas such as fire protection, transportation, school buses, and anti-bullying, so as to prevent accidents before they occur. Third, efforts should be made to strengthen safety publicity and education, promote the normalization and effectiveness of safety education, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of education.
