Empowering Industrial Workers! A Drone Skills Training in Longtian Subdistrict, Pingshan District Takes Flight

On the afternoon of December 21, under the elaborate planning of the Federation of Trade Unions of Shenzhen Dagan Industrial Zone, the “Trade Union Empowerment, Wings for the Future” employee drone skills training successfully concluded, unlocking a brand-new realm of professional skills for the employees in the district. The four progressive sessions, covering both theoretical learning and hands-on practice, helped the participants make a leap from amateur drone enthusiasts to proficient professional operators.

The training kicked off with solid theoretical courses, where professional instructors systematically explained the flight principles of drones, national airspace regulations, safety operation norms and the application prospects of the drone industry. The courses were more than just knowledge impartation—they also strengthened the participants’ awareness of safety responsibilities, ensuring that every trainee keeps safety as a top priority while embracing new technologies.

The real highlight lay in the immersive hands-on training sessions. The trainees first experienced the joy of flight control through exciting competitions with small football drones. Maneuvering through obstacles, hovering steadily and conducting cooperative attack and defense—these interesting confrontations enabled the pilots to quickly hone precise flight control skills and sharp responsiveness.

A more challenging part of the training was the assembly and disassembly of large drones. Transforming into “sky mechanics”, the trainees started from being at a loss when facing the sophisticated drone structures, precision flight control systems and various circuit layouts, and gradually gained a thorough understanding of them. By tightening screws and conducting debugging and calibration repeatedly, they not only mastered solid assembly and maintenance skills, but also developed a profound understanding of the technological logic behind the aircraft.

The final session took the trainees to a professional drone training base. Through group comprehensive competitions and flight assessments, the classroom learning was extended to real-world practice scenarios. A series of practical assessment items including fixed-point take-off and landing, precise route planning and simulated emergency response systematically tested the trainees’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge, the stability of their operational skills, as well as their adaptability and concentration under pressure.

A trainee surnamed Zou said, “This training was packed with practical knowledge! I never expected such a small drone to hold so many sophisticated technologies. I’ve already started thinking about how to apply this new skill to my daily work, and make drones a powerful assistant to boost work efficiency and enrich life.”

This training is an innovative practice of the Federation of Trade Unions of Shenzhen Dagan Industrial Zone to empower employees and support industrial upgrading. Going forward, the federation will continue to advance such cutting-edge skills training and launch follow-up advanced courses. By providing advanced training programs and skill exchange platforms, it will help more industrial workers achieve professional growth and advancement, and open up a new journey of striving and exploration for them with the “wings” of new skills.
